  • Seriously fun, easy to use, limited ability to mix multiple microphones
What comes in the box: - instructions - mixer - audio M-M cable - USB-A to USB-C - USB-C to USB-C This little mixer can be used for a variety of purposes, including voice-overs, live-streams, and performances. It's a consumer product, so if you're a professional, this isn't for you and you won't be happy. The primary audience (see what I did there!) should be the hobbyist/occasional user, and it has a bunch of fun features and capability to be flexible. The mixer is powered from USB-C, but it has a built-in battery, so it can run "wall-wart-less" for at least an hour on its own, though I don't believe there's many cases where you'd rely on the battery, since you're typically going to have other powered equipment in use. I used this mixer in two modes: electric guitar-backed song session and a karaoke party. It was easy enough to connect the guitar, microphone, and a background audio source and balance output between the three. The karaoke setup was similar, just without the guitar. Things I liked: - Easy to use either bluetooth or line-in backing track. When connected with a phone-based karaoke app, this is a quick and easy setup - the special effects were "fun" -- it was easy to add a fake applause. The voice changer was entertaining in moderation, but with only a handful of voices, it gets old quickly if overused. (I liked "baby" the best) Things I wish were better: - Instructions existed, but weren't thorough. It took a bit of trial and error to get the most out of the setup - I heard some background hiss, but it wasn't overly loud, and it didn't spoiled the fun, but I wish I could have filtered it out - the background-voice mute feature (which reduced certain sound pitches on the accompaniment feed by 85%) was somewhat useful -- allowing you to sing over your favorite tracks and hear your voice through the output. Many instruments are in the same dynamic range as human voice, and those sounds also get muted. But heck, this is an expensive board! - all microphone inputs are merged into one common input, no ability to balance between different microphone inputs. You can get around that a bit by having your mic users manipulate sound levels by varying distance to the mic, but it's not great. Overall verdict -- fun portable board, we plan to take it with us on our next trip to host karaoke night on the road. ... show more

  • Needed This
Mac doesn't support the GoXlr so I needed this to do some voice recordings and it worked perfect. Worked in Logic Pro and Garageband with no issues. I love all the features but just needed a good quality mixer and all the processing I left it to the software. Used this on my gaming PC to test out everything else and it was top notch. gave my Go Xlr a little competition. great mixer. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • An ok sounds mixex for light use
Sound mixer is okay if you're just starting out doing streaming or making an at-home radio show or something. It's a little confusing to get the hang of even with the instruction manual provided unless you specialize in sound - then I'm guessing it would be fairly easy to use. The audio quality is not that good. It's like late 90s, early 2000s early morning radio show quality. Only use if you're specialized in or are interested in experimenting with sound equipment because this thing is not for beginners even though it may seem that way. ... show more

  • A budget live mixer with some fun stuff built in, but don't expect pro quality
This is a budget-priced mixer, but it still has something to offer. You can get audio into the thing in a few ways. Your primary inputs will be 1.) a "music" source, meaning the output from your PC, game console or phone, and 2.) a microphone. There's a third input channel, "Musical Instrument," that takes a 1/4" plug but it's mono only. The levels for each can be adjusted independently. Mics must be plugged into the back, but the output from your PC or phone can be analog or Bluetooth as the mixer has its own Bluetooth receiver that can be used as an input. In any case, music input level is adjusted with the "Accompaniment" knob. I tried plugging in a lavalier mic with a TRRS (4 conductor) plug into the "Headset" port because it needs external power. This worked, and I was able to mess with the different pitch and reverb effects. The built-in reverb is active when any sound mode other than "Original Sound" is selected. You control the amount of reverb using the big knob. The manual says there are different reverb settings, but there's only one. "RAP," "Professional" and "Popular" are EQ settings. The reverb and audio effects only work with the mic input. The mixer can be used as a USB audio interface. There's a loopback mode called "Internal Release," which can be used when the mixer is connected via USB. You also have some silly sound effects you can trigger with the pads along the bottom. These will play over the existing mix. The mixer has its own internal battery, so it's portable as well. Everything works pretty well, with the audio processing having little to no latency. The audio quality isn't great, as I could hear some buzzing on the mic input. The manual has the following warning: "its audio quality is not as professional as a professional mixer." Well, at least they're being honest. Overall, I like this. It's pretty fun to mess with and it would be good for live streaming. ... show more
