As headlined, a decent cordless phone set. Positives: 1. Nice design, attractive and fairly ergonomic. 2. Backlit keyboard with large numbers, intuitive controls. 3. Easy to navigate menus. 4. Good storage capacity - typical 50 directory numbers, 9 speed dial locations. Directory entries/edits are global from any handset. 5. Reasonably good speakers, good range of adjustment. 6. Reasonably good battery life in use. 7. Quiet button to suppress ringer, intercom/conference capability with accessory phones, locator ringer. Typical CID, voicemail with a phone service, redial, TIA compliant. Not-so-positive: 1. Typical V-Tech unit type construction - inexpensively made, but to be fair inexpensively priced. 2. Limited to 5 handsets total. Some confusion on the advertising here - you CANNOT "add 5 accessory handsets." You can only add 4, for a total of 5 handsets in the system. It is what it is, but you should be aware of the capacity before ordering. Previous Uniden system, very similar handsets and base, allowed 12 phones total, as do some other comparable competitors, at least more than 5. If this is a significant limitation, look elsewhere. 3. Information screen is backlit, but dimly, and the numbers are small, but in line with similar phones. 4. No ability to change banner on handsets, which is possible with some competitors. Handsets are labeled "HANDSET 1," 2, 3 & etc. and cannot be changed. Not really significant if you can remember which handset is which for conferencing - HANDSET 1, for example, may be the bedroom handset. You CAN use upper and lower case letters for directory entries, which is a plus. 5. Batteries are typical 2.4v, 300mAh NiMH battery packs, which have a limited life span but again to be fair, are cheap to replace. 6. Handsets are fairly cheap to add and replace. A reasonably good, reasonably priced, reasonably nice looking cordless phone set. Not outstanding, but not bad. Recommended, with comments. ... show more

I was looking for a replacement for a very old phone and this filled the bill. It was low cost, easy to install and the screen is easy to read. I don't use many of the features, but being able to actually see the caller ID has been quite nice!

Brought this phone for my mother and she loves it. Easy to setup for my 80 year old mom. Highly recommend. She can hear clearly and easy to answer for her. Battery life last from 6am-11pm, until she goes to bed. The phone stays off the charger from at less 8-12 minutes of the hours listed.
