I like the aggressive case looks, logo and antenna inserts. So far it has been very solid. I've always liked the Asus interface and this one includes a traffic analyzer, which is great. I'm upgrading from a different Asus WiFi6 router that I wasn't sure was going to last but it has done great. I upgraded to this model and turned the other into a Mesh Node, which took about one minute! Team Asus, thank you for the great user interface. I chose this router because it has an extra wan port and the ability to flash OpenWRT which flashed flawlessly. now i can block internet access to every device no matter the privatized mac address and whitelist the items i need to stay on (cameras and smart lights)

DO NOT BUY THIS POS! It will quit working on you right after the return window. It constantly resets itself and you have to set everything up over and over again. Anytime you lose power it resets. Anytime you change a setting on the app it resets. Biggest waste of money ever.

This router set up quickly, most of the instructions are clear and straight forward. The problem encountered was this router would not network my laser printer. Contracting ASUS was easy but they were not much help. Even after various tasks like driver loading, rebooting, etc, the printer would not communicate. In the end ASUS told me to contact the printer manufacturer. The printer in question was working with my last router (Net gear), I went back to that older router in order to test the printer ports, everything works, it networked properly. I cannot recommend this router; it is blocking my Samsung printer from communicating over wi-fi and USB. ASUS is not helpful so I am essentially stuck. Works great once you remember all the components you need to connect to it (Why doesn't my printer work?). Range was very good as well. The one problem (4 vs 5 stars) was that the LAN 1 - 4 connectors have a lip right below them. This lip gets in the way of compressing the CAT5 cable connected to the LAN for removal. It's almost impossible to remove the CAT5 cable from the front of the unit. ... show more
