So far the board is running great with no issues mentioned in the other reviews. I was at first hesitant because of the mix reviews but decided to try it anyways. I think some of the compatibility issues have been worked out with bios revisions and hardware updates as this board has been out for a while now. Board ran right out of the box with ryzen 7800x3d and rtx 4080 rog strix setup, no bios update needed. Later did update to latest bios and again no issues on windows 11 pro. Aesthetically it's very pleasing and has plenty of slots for ssd, currently running crucial t705 m.2 ssd in the m.2 gen 5 slot closest to cpu. RAM is on expo with Corsair dominator platinum 6000mhz, was able to OC to 6400MHz, with cpu at 5.2ghz. There are so many OC options, it's crazy how much time you can spend tweaking. Overall I haven't has issues with the MB and it's running great so far after building it and using for about 2 weeks for far. With the price half when buying the used one, it's a good value for your money right now, highly recommended. Gave 4 star for stability, because windows got corrupted few times after OC tweaks and crashes, but I think that's more on the RAM side and not directly fault due to the board itself. ... show more

    • Completely Unstable - File Corruption, Corrupt Network Traffic, and BSODs

I put together a new system that turned out to be extremely unstable. It took me a long time to narrow the problems down to this motherboard - who would think to even check that? All Steam games of decent size (10gb+) were corrupt after installing. Sometimes the files would fail to verify and sometimes Steam would just complain that the installer was corrupt. Also sporadic BSODs, system hangs, and lots of weird quirks. I thought for sure this must be bad RAM, so I ran days of RAM tests, underclocked my memory, tried one stick at a time, etc. Everything came back OK. Well, then maybe the drive itself is bad. I tried multiple formats/reinstalls of Windows. Some were better than others, but all had weird quirks like failing to install updates, hanging indefinitely on shut down, and sporadic BSODs. I even tried a different drive I had sitting around - same problem. I underclocked my CPU and ran lots of torture tests - all came back fine but the problems persisted. After a couple weeks of doing this, I returned to this page and saw the reviews had steadily declined for this mobo and turned my attention to that. Surely a motherboard couldn't cause all of these problems - but of course it did. Finally, I turned on Window Driver Verifier and caught the motherboard red handed - multiple ASUS drivers were misbehaving while all other drivers were fine. I swapped this for a different brand x670e and I haven't had a single problem since. In hind sight, this seems obvious - one place I consistently got a BSOD was in ASUS's Armoury Crate when installing drivers. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this mobo. The worst part is that the system boots, works fine for many things (I could play the games I wanted to play with lots of re-downloading) but has lots of little sporadic issues. I was fortunate to buy this at a time which qualified for Amazon's extended holiday return period, otherwise I would've been hosed. As near as I can tell, it's ASUS's drivers causing the problems, so an RMA would probably not fix anything. For those technically inclined, among many other issues, this mobo seems to corrupt a very small amount of TCP traffic *after* it's been checksummed, which is just nuts and causes all sorts of problems. Of course a small amount of corruption multiplied by gigabytes of traffic becomes a huge problem. ... show more

I built my system and was able to post, but it did take a little time the first boot. I was generally happy with the state of the BIOS version that shipped with the board. I was a little nervous to flash a new BIOS because my PC was mostly stable, didn't seem to really be having any memory issues, and there was that fiasco with voiding your warranty using officially released BIOS from Asus (what a joke). BUT, all that warranty stuff has been corrected and I finally decided to update the BIOS to the latest version for stability reasons. It wasn't often, but I DID notice that my system would abruptly crash and reboot (No blue screen, no warning, just like the monitor would turn off and system would reboot) randomly out of nowhere. It wasn't enough to give me concern or anything, but still I wanted to identify the issue and get it ironed out. So I finally decided to update the BIOS to the latest version (at time of review- version 1415), I made sure that all of my drivers were the latest versions from Asus's website, then installed all updates that I had for Windows 11- basically dotted all my i's and crossed all my t's. I'm happy to report that after almost a week or so I haven't experienced any crash or hiccup and everything seems to be operating stable and no issues to report. I know that there's a lot of people complaining about their Asus boards and issues they're having, but I always take these complaints with a grain of salt because I don't know how experienced these users are at building pc's, and more so- troubleshooting issues they may be experiencing or if they even bothered to update their BIOS in the first place. Some users expect a simple plug and play experience (which isn't unreasonable) but when we are talking about a BRAND NEW platform and chipset- well, as you are aware of, there are sometimes growing pains and a maturation process that just takes a little time. The quality of this board is TOP NOTCH. It has virtually every feature you could want or need (although 10gb Ethernet at this price point is not asking for too much), the BIOS are robust and take some time to find all the settings, but they're there! Lol, you can fine-tune and customize every aspect of your system. Auras Sync works great between all my peripherals and components. I mean, Idk what else to tell you. Board was a first time go. No major issues and after my first BIOS update- NO ISSUES to speak of. It looks great, it works great. That's what I paid for and I got my money's worth so far. I've owned 4 or 5 Asus motherboards, used in personal rigs and I've never had a problem with any of them. I not only recommend their products but continue to purchase them myself. It would take a lot to get me to purchase a board from another manufacturer at this point, but this is just my opinion and experience. ... show more
