I've wanted to have a 3000 series card for a while but as we all know it was either not possible to get one or the price was so high above MSRP that you'd have to sacrifice a kidney to buy one. Due to the recent crypto crash, prices have dropped. So I finally took the plunge and let my impulse win for once. Seeing the reviews on this page made me very nervous while waiting for the card to arrive. From people talking about the card not actually being "new" to people talking about horrendous coil whine, I was ready to be disappointed. The sellers "Nationwide-Distributors" were very tentative to my questions and very quick to suggest contacting them if the card was found to be used. But to my surprise the card is actually new and unused. Due to the price point I don't think anyone expects this card to perform poorly. But its the noise level that is surprisingly quiet and the temperatures haven't reached above 65C when maxing out games like Escape from Tarkov and DOOM Eternal with RTX on. The Asus Strix RTX 3090 OC Edition is a beast of a card, at the consumer level there is no work load this beast cannot handle. The Asus Strix brand also brings with it quality, all the components working on this card from power delivery to the heat sink and dRGB is top shelf. With performance comes significant power draw, so be prepared to have a beefy power supply, I believe 850 W is recommended, and you will need it at the minimum. My typical power draw on this card with a Core i9-10980XE is between 600 and 680 Watts under load, so 850 is just about right to ensure margin. There has been a lot said about coil whine, and it is present on this card. However, in an enclosed case I must specifically concentrate on hearing it before I can tell it is present. Open case, it is faint but noticeable. Under headphones there is nothing at all. I suspect for most people the whine is a non-issue, some are much more sensitive to it... whether they have more acute hearing or if it is psychological not sure, but for me it is a non-issue. ... show more

I love the gaming performance and stability but the HDMI out to my LG nanoscreen tv does not let me do many adjustments to make video look better. The AMD 6800xt I upgraded from let me make all the advanced video settings and I was able to use trumotion with it. Now I have to rebuild my old system with the 6800xt for multimedia. The media could not be loaded. I replaced my Asus ROG RTX 2060 Super with this Game Slugger. Do a bit of homework on the specs & you will discover this card Is not as large as the specs suggest Here On Amazon. I'm hoping in proofing my review, they'll change this in their listings. It's around 12.5 inches long VS about 11.8 Inches long for the RTX 2060 Super. This is a critical item; since you'd be hard pressed to find any mid tower that could accommodate a GPU of that magnitude. Fortunately, I'd already decided to move to a full tower, which I’ll review in a few weeks; but pictured here. 24gs of ram also means you can add all the high texture adds ons, like Far Cry 6 with ease. Team this GPU with a speedy CPU and SSD. Your gaming world will be satisfied for quite a while! ... show more

I bought this gpu from Amazon not a third party it’s an amazing card great on high demanding games also with ray tracing obviously since it is a 3090 I currently and am happy with the card but I just got coil whine about a week in and it’s not horrible like many other but it is annoying so if you do get this card you could get coil whine besides that amazing card great performance in general just annoying coil whine even if it is quiet for me, it’s mainly worse without the glass panel ... show more
