    • Great laptop with issues that ruin the whole experience
I've had this laptop for over 6 months now, and after owning several gaming laptops I had to leave a review on how disappointed I am. The laptop itself works great mostly, except for a few freezeups. Screen looks great, it stays quiet and cool, looks good, and performs well with whatever game I throw at it. The problems come from 2 areas. The worst is the power bar. Every other power adaptor brick I have ever seen has a short end connected to the wall, the adaptor, then a long end running to the computer. For some unknown reason, they have this reversed on this. So whenever you try to use this laying in bed, or on the couch, you have to balance this brick on the arm of the chair or beside you. I can't count how many times it has been dropped on the floor, because it doesn't have enough slack to move around. Whoever suggested this layout should be straight up fired. From something that you never have to think about to something that make me angry every time I use it. The other major issue is the network adaptor. Another issue, in every other computer you never have a problem, to one that has issues connecting to some modems leading to lags and disconnects. This has been an issue with our home modem, and after travelling for work the last 6 weeks, has serious issues with about half of the routers we have had to use. I work with another Asus side by side and can watch in real time as this one disconnects. Overall a decent computer, but a down grade from the Predator 17 I had before this, due to these quality of life issues ... show more

My husband has had nothing but issues with the laptop. It's like all the ports on the back are bad. They lose connection all the time. He connects a bigger monitor to it and it never registers that it's there. He usually has to turn it off and back on. At the time of this review it's currently not picking it up at all. We have tried a new HDMI cable, a new monitor and restarting several times. Then we tried an HDMI converter that hooks to the laptop via USB and it works. Therefore the HDMI port is bad. Now as a gamer he loses refresh rate. Which makes this "gaming" laptop worthless. How to I get a refund after 7 months??? ... show more

I bought this because it said it was VR ready, Nope. I contacted customer service, they're response was "read the manual"., that pissed me off right there and there is nothing AT ALL in the manual about that. It's a nice laptop but not for VR that i wanted it for. So it went back.

SSD failed after less than 4 months. Seller Happy Ranger initially responded to my warranty inquiry on May 25 offering a partial refund if I kept the laptop and repaired it myself, but has since been unresponsive for 2+ weeks to further inquiries regarding warranty service.     • Very fast and stays cool
It's very fast, nice display and stays cool. I like the backlite keyboard but wish it was white light not colored but not a big deal. I had a ASUS gaming laptop before lasted 7 years, I would buy again
