  • Great Mother board left my old Mac Pro tower behind and live in windows 11 now
This is a fantastic motherboard with thunderbolt 4 and wifi 6e. With the OLED screen on it with system information it is great. Everything about this worth the money.

  • RGB busted after 4 months
The media could not be loaded. I built my PC mid January, all brand new components, and essentially everything top of the line ASUS products except for my case/fans/cooler/ram. This motherboard's LEDs do not function properly in essentially a horizontal stripe (in the word ROG in the upper left, and on the strip on the right at about the same height) as shown in the video, when set to static single color (red) the LEDs look orange. When set to rainbow puke they dont exactly match, and when set to "dark"(off) they still glow green! I didnt build this rig for RGB, but I 100% do expect them to work on things that cost over $1,000 bucks.. Other than the RGB, the product still fuctions as it's supposed to, as far as I can tell. But for a $1,000+ motherboard, this is plain unacceptable..RGB LEDs aren't a complex system. I could have maybe given this a 2 or 3 star because RGB isn't important, but it's the MOBO.. it's not exactly the easiest component to replace. And when you buy the very tip top of the line, you expect better. Much much better. ... show more

  • Ignorance
It is amazing to me how many people, especially computer people who would return a board and leave a bad review simply because they are too lazy to do a little reading or research. The bottom 2 m.2 slots run off of the bottom PCIE lanes. You have to enable them in the bios. If you returned this board or complained about it without doing your due diligence…..then maybe a board classified as “Extreme” isn’t for you. This board is everything it is advertised as and more! ... show more

  • Asus puts together a good product but the support and amd still gets last rate support
Likes ... The board is heavy , has great heatsinks, the astetics of the board is great, DIMM.2 is still an awesome feature and usually in the past had great support (for Intel, see cons). Dislikes.... AMD products from Asus still take a backseat for support to Intel. I did a clean install of Win 11 pro to a WD m.2 and the boot times are 28 seconds (with fastboot off in bios, Windows is still a buggy OS and when turning on my system i prefer a clean boot not fastboot where bugs can occur from the cached drivers/settings from Fasbooting.) I installed armory crate and the drivers in it were older then the ones on Mobo site, When comparing Intel z690 Extreme to x570 Extreme driver/bios site the win 11 for x570 only has thunderbolt and a chipset driver (that is newer then amd x570 chipset site), thats it . Now for the z690 win 11 page on asus all drivers are listed there. Also the OLED screen shows stats and often shows 1.5xx to 1.6xx Volts for CPU, no matter if i use docp, manual settings, follow other guides on sites..... Now in HWinfo (set to 1000 polling and also 500 just to see if it would pickup what OLED is showing) but the highest seen is 1.501 ( no matter how i set the bios settings). Also the vlatch min and max varies from 0.000v min to 1.618v max (not sure if it should show vlatch even tho i have the switch set to off at bottom of the mobo. BIOS is 0402 paired with a 5950x. In bios the default setting to monitor cpu voltage is DIE sense. I dont have a multimeter handy or i would probe to see what max actually is (but i shouldnt have to , should be able to rely on what the board is reporting on the OLED.) I switched to a Gigabyte Xtreme when i saw the huge Asus price hikes when x570 released, it treated me right but their bios support is buggy almost all the time but the features per price compared to asus was better, i got this board cause of that and still seeing that amd is a backseat to intel for support Even with the expensive versions of their lineup. Also the 2 thunderbolt usb c ports on the rear io are way slower transfering the same file, 35M s compared to the front usbA 3 ports on my corasir 7000 air case which does approx 380M s, tested with 3 different cables. Just found another con... in bios setting rgb aura lighting to aura off doesnt work, i set to off turned comp off booted into win and they stay on, turned off entered bios and it does show aura off, i changed to stealth and saved and reboot doesnt work either. Also going into profile page where i saved this profile under number 3 there are extra characters after the name i saved it as. Not looking good asus, might go back to Gigabyte. ... show more

  • Great motherboard but defective M.2 slots, happens frequently with this board.
The motherboard is great looking, feels high quality in the hand and was working fine, for only 2 months... Short review: PCIe design on the motherboard may be bad which causes several units of this motherboard to have defective PCIe lanes which results in the GPU or M.2 SSD's not being recognized. Long Review: After 2 months the motherboard started having random issues and was causing blue screens, I thought at first it was from Windows 11 but after doing tons of troubleshooting I found out that while I was using the computer, somehow the M.2 SSD's would disconnect and the motherboard would not recognize that there is an SSD plugged in...? So I thought maybe I need to reseat the M.2 SSD, I reseated them and when I turned on the computer it booted straight into the bios and showed that there is no storage device plugged in? I turn off the computer and turn it back on then it magically boots into Windows but after 10 minutes of using the computer, it blue screens and shuts off. Then it randomly started showing errors that the graphics cards bios isn't loading??? I plugged in another GPU, same issue... I tried downgrading the BIOS version, tried the BETA version, same issue... Luckily Amazon accepted my return even though it was past 30 days, this motherboard could be amazing but sadly it seems to have some kind of defective design. No other Asus motherboard supports 3+ M.2 SSD's, I would recommend the MSI MEG X570S ACE MAX if you need the extra M.2 slots. Personally I prefer Asus but sadly this product let me down. ... show more
