  • Had to buy as a replacement
Style: 24GB RAM | 2TB SSD
I had purchased the Lenovo Flex 5 14" 2-in-1 Touchscreen Laptop - AMD Ryzen 7 4700U - 1080p (awesome machine!) from Costco on 6/24/20 (upgraded from a super slow HP 17" AMD A12-9720P 8GB RAM). I didn't even get to use it for 4 months before it completely died out of nowhere (fully charged with no power what-so-ever) on 10/22/20. Unfortunately, because of the increased demands in current times from one of my professions and my super slow backup option, I was not able to wait for Lenovo to take their sweet time to fix this machine (was told 9 days and it took 6.5 weeks) so I had to purchase a replacement to get me by which is this ASUS Vivobook. Based off my recent luck with tech and it being 2020, this review might be premature however this is an awesome laptop as long as it keeps working! Although spec'd practically the same, I do feel like the Lenovo was just a tad bit faster than the ASUS and the Lenovo is a 2 in 1 which the ASUS is not and something I still need. I mainly use my laptop(s) for designing, creating videos/ads, and modifying/processing documents/files which seem to require me using anywhere from 3-14 different programs, websites, or software combos at the same time and have had no issues with anything I can think of thus far with my ASUS. I haven't been slowed down or experienced any lag with anything thus far including the internet. I am not a gamer anymore however don't see why this wouldn't work well for that as long as the graphics card is sufficient for your needs. To me, it is about the processor, memory, and brand. In my opinion, the Ryzen 7 4700u is the best processor on the market configured in laptops right now with decent price points and then it is about the memory and brand. There is a HUGE difference between 8GB RAM and 16GB RAM and I won't even bother with any machine that has less that 16GB RAM anymore. The Lenovo was great because it not only fit 99% of my needs but it also only came with McAfee which is an easy uninstall. The ASUS doesn't fit all my specific needs in one machine like the Lenovo and it comes with a bit more installed that I had to remove. I have been mainly using HP for the past decade and with them you definitely get the most garbage installed on your computer from my experience. I haven't used other brands like Dell in years and won't bother with Chromebooks so I can't speak on those. I want to own what I buy, not rent everything... I did get my Lenovo back refurbished AND wiped clean which Lenovo assured me they wouldn't do and the only reason I didn't return it once it died since I had just purchased multiple single machine use programs for the Lenovo that I now need to re-buy. Now that I have this ASUS and a fully refurbished "new" Lenovo I paid over $800 for, I will probably return/sell the Lenovo and replace that for a new 2 in 1 Ryzen 7 4700u 32GB RAM combo. I would highly recommend any Ryzen 4700u & 16GB RAM combo right now except maybe HP because all the extra garbage that comes installed but that is my preference, and it is a great value deepening on the price you pay. I'm sure the 8GB RAM option would work well because that is what most people are used to having but it is worth having double the RAM from my recent upgrade experiences. I wouldn't spend more than $900 for this now considering you can get a Ryzen 7 4700U 32GB RAM 1TB SSD option for under $1100 right now. No matter the option you choose, I would recommend investing in a portable SSD or three no matter what and work off those just in case. It will be worth not having the headaches and stress IF something were to happen to your new machine. ... show more

  • ASUS Vivobook Laptop, 17.3" is EXCELLENT!
Style: 24GB RAM | 1TB SSD
I had been using an ASUS laptop with Windows 8.1 for more than 10 years, so when I wanted to move to Windows 11 and a bigger screen I bought the Vivobook when I came across it. FANTASTIC! The machine is very fast, with 12 Gb. of memory and 512 Gb. SSD this laptop more than meets my needs! I quickly and easily accomplish audio and video editing on this laptop, and access to the web is very fast. For just over $500 delivered, I highly recommend this system, with the silver case; it's one of the best laptops I have ever used! ... show more

  • Good product for the price.
Style: 16GB RAM | 512GB SSD
It is a great laptop for a casual gamer, basically someone who only plays one or three games. It came with the correct amount of ram and was pretty easy to set up. I bought this for someone else and they have happily enjoyed it without any problems that their IT department is aware of. Overall I would recommend this to someone that likes to game but doesn't need something Overclocked. ... show more

  • Great price for great laptop
Style: 16GB RAM | 512GB SSD
This laptop is a great laptop for it’s price. It can run high graphic games and still have a consistent 240 frames per second. Only issues was that it would crash from time to time but still rarely.

  • Great for first gaming computer
Style: 16GB RAM | 512GB SSD
Grandson loves it. Great value for a first gaming computer. Bought the protection plan with it which was a good thing. The battery would not charge but sent it back through bestbuy and fixed free of charge. Have had no other issues with it.

My son has been Xbox ing for many years and begging for a gaming computer. • It's crazy fast!
Style: 16GB RAM | 512GB SSD
For under 700, this laptop is quite the beast! I grabbed the 16 GB 256 GB SSD. It's better going with a 1 TB external SSD than paying the extra 100 for the 1 TB HDD. It doesn't say, but the graphics card has 3 GB of dedicated memory. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the purchase!!! It'll play most games at high video quality with impressive FPS. ... show more

  • The best buy ever!
Style: 16GB RAM | 512GB SSD
Man this computer is a beast! I was a little nervous about purchasing it because the price is so amazing but I'm glad I did. I'm a music producer and the fast processor and RAM gives me the ability to use so much more when mixing.
