My gf and I have found that this is the best lube we’ve tried…for being together or solo (wink). Depending on the humidity of the room or lack there of, it can get sticky on solo adventures so you’ll have to apply more at times but that’s typical of all lubes. Also, and most important, this version of Astroglide contains polyquaternium 7 as the final ingredient. Previous versions of Astroglide contained polyquaternium 15. BIG difference for me personally because the polyquaternium 15 version tended to foam up with solo use or when my gf takes matters in her own hands. The polyquaternium 7 version does NOT foam up. So I always check to verify the Astroglide I’m purchasing has polyquaternium 7 as the last ingredient. Also, I personally found the polyquaternium 7 version is a little more forgiving on sensitive skin areas. As far as cost…all lubes are overpriced such as this. But I love this economy size. When Astroglide began tweeting in support of the renewal effort for the hit pirate comedy Our Flag Means Death, I semi-jokingly vowed I would never buy another brand of lube again. Now that I've actually tried it, I will ABSOLUTELY never buy another brand of lube! Astroglide ensures smooth sailing with toys or a partner(s). I'm a picky shopper when it comes to my sexual health, especially as a trans man. after spending a long time comparing lubricants and reading reviews I finally settled on this one. and oh lord does it work well. just a little bit will take everything from uncomfortably dry to nice and attractively slick. keep in mind it isnt a gel so its closer to an almost thick water consistency. it sure lasts long without drying out though! i HIGHLY recommend this for anyone who has wetness issues and is desperate to have an enjoyable time pleasuring themself. it truly has elevated my experience and made everything even more enjoyable than it was before. that all being said ALWAYS DO A TEST BEFORE USE ON SUPER SENSITIVES! just because my body reacted well, doesn't mean yours will! stay safe, comfy, and happy! add this lube to your list of considerations if you're lookin at different types and need recommendations! ... show more

No concern for intended use. Tried Surgilube\KY, and this is the best for shaving. Unfortunately, only noticed a couple of years ago that men's shaving cream, has skyrocketed in price.

I bought the new big bottle thinking it was the same formula, but it is NOT the same. The new formula in the big bottle is a little more watered down than the original. I did the drip test to confirm and on the bigger bottle the the contents are much more runny. Luckily, Astroglide acknowledged the recipe difference on the ingredients label. (See attached pic) Overall, I'm very happy Astroglide FINALLY made a bigger bottle. Now I just need them to make a 1 gallon size bottle and I'll be set. I am a little disappointed they changed the formula. (What do you expect from companies nowadays?) To be honest, I like the old formula better. 4 stars overall for the ingredient change. 5 stars to Amazon for delivering same day. ... show more

    • DON'T USE WITH SKYN CONDOMS!!!

For a water based lube, it has decent staying power (especially considering the ultra reasonable price point). There's no smell, and the taste is just a very mild fake-sugar/Splenda type flavor... It's VERY runny and messy (but it's MEANT to be; if you want otherwise, go with the gel version). I generally prefer silicone lubes for penetrative sex (they're better for women's Ph levels than water-based, last WAY longer, and - with Astroglide X - are compatible with Skyn and other polysoprene (spelling?) condoms), but prefer water based for hand and oral combos and foreplay. My only complaint is that the overwhelming majority of water based lubes on the market are compatible with Skyn/polysoprene condoms -- so why not Astroglide???. Secondly, Astroglide's packaging & online marketing is downright MISLEADING on this point (saying "compatible with condoms" -- it's not until you read the smaller print, or the brand literature, that you become aware of its inexplicable incompatibility, when compared with the rest of the water based market). With Skyn's popularity (and frankly, its superiority in feel/fit AND efficacy/safety), and with Astroglide being one of the heavy hitters in the lube game, it just doesn't make sense to me why this would be the case? I unknowingly used both this and the water based gel lubes with Skyn DOZENS of times this past month, and THANKFULLY did not encounter any breakage or issues. With this and the gel being so reasonably priced, and of such consistent quality, I'm definitely disappointed not to be able to use them anymore; because if I have to choose between giving up Skyn (the creme de la creme game changer of condoms), or Astroglide (the decent lube at a fair price, but not especially unqiue) - it's the Astroglide that winds up in the bin, unfortunately. ... show more
