  • Expensive defects.
Size: 9 Color: Wool/Black
Riddled with defects. This is my 5th order through Zappos and first via Amazon fulfillment. I'm coming to the conclusion that Zappos sells factory second's. First. I received a mismatch of shoes with boots in my order, contacted Amazon CS and they didn't seem concerned. Would have been a bonus if they were new, but it looked like someone tampered with the package and decided just to throw whatever they had in stock into the box. Not a huge deal but not a confidence builder on fulfillment. The boots themselves are great as long as you get a good pair that passes QC. The boots I received were riddled with dry rot and came separating from the sole. Could have been bad luck getting old inventory; however I've had the same problem with defecting boots from Zappos when ordering independently. When I contacted the manufacturer they confirmed the defect and recommended sending it back but did not have any further information on why it was sold or how it passed QC. ... show more

  • Falls apart within a month
Size: 11.5 Color: Wool/Black
I'm still waiting to heat back from this seller about a warranty or something to address this problem, but I'm pretty disappointed with these boots. Less than a month after purchasing them and moderate wear, the stitching on seam on the inner left boot started to become frayed and undone. This damage allows dirt, gravel and other debris to enter the boot, which makes wearing the boot become quite uncomfortable. This damage also reduces the "waterproofness" of the boots. It looks like several other reviewers have had issues with quality, and given the potential lack of warranty on these boots, I recommend other buyers to not risk paying nearly $250 for a potentially defective product. ... show more

  • Future buyers pay attention to other negative GTX reviews ! ! !
Future customers beware: please read negative reports on other Fugutive GTX reviews here with Amazon. Rubber soles and nose guard are of inferior material and Asolo's service is far below standard. The reputation of this European brand is down the drain for what I think of it and as it seems they don't care. ... show more

  • The boot for me
Size: 11 Color: Wool/Black
First impressions are really positive. Seems like a great build and use of materials. Not too heavy, not too light. Stiffness and flexibility in the right places. Comfortable out of the box. Size was spot on in a sneaker domain. After reading a few of the lower end reviews I had some concerns. These boots need some miles put on them before a true review could be done. Narrow: not to me, I don't want something wide in this area for versatility reasons Protective rubber toe box: seems OK, wouldn't want to be kneeling on concrete all day, potentially dragging across and damaging Sole: only time will tell, but seems to be worthy I went with a pair of Solomon Quest 4D 3 GTX and returned them, and while it was a nice build and had quality materials, it was way too thick of a boot for me and the boot felt too tall.. I've had versatile array of boots over my career and these seem to be the ones I've been looking for, for a long time... I walk through most every terrain and in the most undesirable locations, and can't wait to put theese to the test. ... show more

  • Please Pay Attention to reviews and service warranty
Size: 10.5 Color: Wool/Black
Poor customer service. Boots made of inferior materials. Within months laces wore and frayed, rubber soles worn completely down. Also boot eyelet fell out of boot. Was not offered repair or replace option. I am an avid hiker and veteran who is disappointed with the product and customer service. No repair shops available and was brushed aside by support. ... show more

  • Bombproof
Size: 11.5 Color: Wool/Black
This is my second pair of Fugitives. Prior to that, I have owned the FSN 95 gtx and the Fusion 95 gtx. I have relatively narrow feet but like just a bit more room in the footbox and Asolo has reliably offered great boots with lasts that fit my feet very well and hold my heel in place. For potential fit reference, Merrells are usually far too wide for my feet. For trail running, Brooks Cascadias are perfect. These boots are comfy enough to hike in out of the box. After a bit of wear, they are great. I have NEVER had an issue with the goretex liners in any Asolo boots. They stay dry for years of heavy use. The footbed is pretty flat. If you have bad arches or like something more formed, find insoles you like. I like them as they are, after they mold a bit to your feet. The sole can be a bit slick immediately upon taking them out of the box. This can be solved by scuffing them up for a minute or two before you hike. I hike a lot in the White Mountains in NH, with wet and icy rock trails. These are a good balance between grip and tread life. Honestly, it's ridiculous how long these last. I don't know how they do it. The soles accommodate yak traks / microspikes and seem to keep them on and in place a bit better than other shoes I have used them on, for some reason. These things are beasts and will last forever. I have no idea how Asolo's customer service is because I have never had a need to contact them over the course of wearing their boots for 16 years or so. ... show more

  • Been wearing these boots for 10 years. They are awesome!
Size: 13 Color: Wool/Black
Been wearing these for 10+ years every single day on the trail and in the city. The bottom of the souls wear out before anything else goes every single time. If you wear these everyday in the city on hard pavement, they might make 6 months. If you wear these on the trail every single day, they will last a year. Every pair lasts a long time. Ankle support is right. Only thing I would complain about is the the clips on the upper part of the laces. They can get bent on boulders and then it is hard to lace them up next time. You can bend them back out bit then they are never quite right. ... show more
