As soon as I had posted my review with the 1 rating, the company very professionally contacted me offering me several options as to how to fix my problem. I was impressed with their prompt response and followed the suggestions. Unit has been working "PERFECTLY". I loved working with a company that has great customer service skills. Here is the info they gave me to remedy... Thank you I did as instructed in cleaning unit with vinegar and water exactly. I plugged in and the unit has been working beautifully. I ran the unit for 8 hours straight. I used both manual and remote functions...both seem to be working perfectly. I want to thank you for your prompt response and your help in how to address this problem. Because I used only distrilled water, I never thought to clean with vinegar. Again, thank for your help in getting this unit that I loved working . Yes, I will be changing my review to 5 stars as both the unit and and company are excellent. I was so excited when I received my new Essential Oil Diffuser. I used it at lease 3 times a week. Worked beautifully...and then it didn't. I always fill up to the water line with distilled water and when I did it today, it cycled through the colors and then stopped. I tried unplugging and then plugged it back in...nothing. I did not purchase this product to work for only approximately 4 months or 16 weeks and then stop working. I reccommend that you do not purchase this product and remember the name so that you do not purchase in the future. So sad to write this review....but maybe this will save you some money and time. I love this ASAKUKI 500 ml aromatherapy diffuser. It's beautiful, it's the right size, about as big as your outstretched hand, 6.3 inches diameter and 4.8 inches high, it plugs into an AC wall outlet with a nice long white wire cord, and it has a sensible, simple design with a single water chamber that looks like it'll be easy to clean the mold that, inevitably, will grow wherever there's water (once a month I'll take it to the kitchen sink open it up, and clean it with a sponge, hot water, and dilute bleach). The controls, which run alongside the elegant wood base make the handy remote unnecessary. A few things the vague instructions won't tell you: if you fill it only like 70% full there's still plenty of water for the night, you only need to add like 3 drops of essential oil unless you want an overpowering aroma, there's a gentle slooping sound of mist bubbles working their way up through the pool of water (it's pretty quiet and I got easily used to it -- I like to think there's a quiet brook running somewhere in the distance), the handy remote uses comes with a CR 2025 (3-volt coin size) battery installed, but if you ever want to replace it, you must, as detailed in a tiny white-on-white embossed drawing on the back of the remote, pry open the remote's battery tab by simultaneously pushing inward/medially on the tiny tab while also pulling on the slot like pulling out a drawer. Overall, a nice device!! Bonus: you can irritate your friends by announcing you're in aromatherapy. 🌙💤💤💤 ... show more

Oh I’ve bought a few of these. This is the best one I found. I love the size it will run all night I use orange essential oil in it just a few drops so it’s not too overpowering. Love the fact that there’s different settings timers so I don’t have to worry about selling it every time you want to use it with a large tank the others I have only run for maybe two hours tops for the need to be refilled. it’s extremely quiet you don’t even know it’s on, you can turn the lights on or off also different settings to rotate. ... show more

no information on the best kind of water to use... tap water with minerals in it actually makes it vaporize better - but the diffuser will need cleaning with vinegar more often and may shorten the life of the ultrasonic diffusing plate... distilled water is most expensive water source but without minerals won't vaporize as readily, but you also won't have to clean it as often and the diffuser will probably last longer... filtered water is a good compromise being cheaper than distilled but still has a minimum of minerals to help vaporizing... no information whatsoever in how much essential oils to use - you're left to guess 3 drops or 20 drops... those reviews that say they couldn't smell anything or that is was too weak obviously didn't put enough essential oil in the water... I'm sitting in a living-room / kitchen area that is approx. 500 sq ft and i am definitely smelling the 9 drops of Eucalyptus essential oil i put in the distilled water... it also probably has something to do with the quality of essential oil you use... some 'essential oils' may be diluted with mineral or another carrier oil... you get what you pay for... ... show more

I love this diffuser! I have a small room, and this diffuser has no issues keeping my room smelling nice for hours. I use eucalyptus and peppermint essential oils inside mine, and the scent is pure and has no plasticky scent. The modes are perfect, there is a big/small option for steam, light options (which I do not usually use since they are slightly abrasive in color options, but there are even brightness options with the colors with is nice!), and timers for 60, 120, and 180 minutes. It took me about 5 minutes from start to finish to set up, and the remote is a lifesaver. The base is VERY secure and not scratchy on surfaces at all. There is some drippage when removing the lid, but all diffusers do this in my experience, so no stars off for that! Not a huge deal for me. All in all - a fantastic buy! ... show more
