  • Okay product
It is okay for the price, a bit bulky and heavy also part of the iPad screen gets obscured when the iPad is installed. The plastic cover screen diminishes the experience of smoothly interacting with your ipad, I don't see the need for the plastic screen. The angled support is also useless in a small cockpit where the yoke movement will be restricted. ... show more

  • Useless and will be Returned
Covers so much of the screen it makes the tablet unusable, thus making this product worthless. Plus it doesn't even rotate to landscape. Buh bye. Returning.

  • Inperfect, yet useful
This thing is a great concept, yet the plastic cover on the top is a waste. The kneeboard was not really designed to handle an iPad in a case.

  • the most useless iPad holder ever invented
once you put it in, it's basically unusable as 1. you don't have access to the side buttons 2. you cannot see the sides of the screen but if you want something to protect your ipad and use it as a tray while flying, this is the thing!

  • Useful kneeboard
Very useful product, the only con is the strap, i wish i could be more robust or stronger, other than that it works.

  • ASA iPAD knee board KB-IPAD-2
Sometimes we can make suggestions or find items on products which we would like to see done differently, but I have never had to write a mostly negative review before. I am not sure that anyone at ASA actually tried this configuration with an iPad 2, but it is not very well done. Cons: 1. The iPad is held in by inserting it behind elastic fabric holder; good idea so you can R&R the iPad quickly and it should hold it securely. However, these fabric elastic wings are so large that they obscure too much of the screen. I found I had to frequently push the corners out of the way to get at menu items on the iPad. Eventually I put the iPad into the bottom corners and over the top ones so I could have access to the upper corners of the screen. BTW the stock photo does not show the corners of the screen being hidden behind the retention corners. Either the photo was taken from a different version or the elastic corners were smaller on the photo sample. 2. The plastic protective screen is much too glossy; because it is not flat and so glossy the glare and reflections are distracting. It is also too long for the knee pad, partially due to the bending of the backer (see next comment below). Yes, the clear plastic cover is actually longer than the knee board so when you pull the clear cover over the iPad and fasten the Velcro hold down latch it forces the screen back up and wrinkles the clear plastic. It is absolutely impossible to pull the clear plastic cover tight and fasten the Velcro tab. The hold down tab which holds the clear cover closed with a Velcro tab is annoying when it is not in use. I found I had to tuck it under the iPad which made getting ahold of it a little difficult when I wanted to use it. I suppose if I were drinking coffee in the plane the heavy clear cover would be nice, but I don't. I already have a non-reflective screen protector and found this cover to be annoying. I can visualize someone at ASA saying "We need a screen protector" and the people in the room saying "great idea". Unfortunately no one went from 'great idea' to a good feature implementation. This heavy plastic wrinkled reflective cover is a liability, not an asset. 3. The backer behind the Pad is bent like a banana from the tension of the elastic, so it relies on the iPad to force it straight. Unfortunately the iPad does not fit tightly enough to do that. Plus, if you leave the Pad out of the top corners to get at the screen as I did there is nothing to hold the backer straight. Not a critical design defect but annoying. It looks worn out when you first put it together, and contributes to the clear cover being too long for the knee board Pros: 1. It does not cost much so I won't feel badly when I cut off the clear plastic cover and try to modify the hold down. Bottom line: Good idea but poor execution in the details. I'll cut off the clear plastic cover and tab so I can use it until I find something better. Hopefully it won't take long to find a better solution. ... show more
