This frame was to replace a funky, cheaply made bed frame that came with my memory foam bed. The instructions are all pictures but specify which screws to use where. Assembly was easy. The trick with this build- them- yourself thing is to go slow and easy. I saw a review about stripped screws. I hand tightened everything which made putting it together easier. Once it was all assembled, then I tightened everything. Do not use power tools to put this together. That is how you'll strip the screws and there are NO extras. My method of picking this one was the weight. Metal products are made cheaper by a lesser gauge. It made sense to have the one which was heaviest and after I assembled it, I think it was a good call. I used amazon gift cards and points from previous purchases to make the price easier to handle. I'd buy it again. ... show more

Let me start with I'm a plus size female, around 240lbs. This is heavy duty, I absolutely love it. I waited a month to post my review to see if It started squeaking, and nothing. After reading other reviews I prepared my self and had someone here to help me put it together, I honestly could have put it together myself it was that easy...but with the help of someone else we had set up in 15 minutes. Feels well built- time will tell with my "bull in China shop" son. If it's frail he'll break it. So far so good (few weeks in.) It looks good and feels fine but if you look close, it has tons of tiny scratches. That's how it came but from a few feet away it looks fine. We're happy with it.

Well, do not recommend. The bed parts came in scratched up in several places. I didn’t mind so much on the areas that won’t be visible, but on the places that are visible (the headboard and footboard) I didn’t particularly like. For something new there shouldn’t be any scratches or wear and tear. On the headboard, on one side my husband had to forcefully hammer the decorative cover piece on because the main piece was too wide for it. We had no issues with the opposite side or any other parts, but that one did take a while because we had to force it. If it weren’t for these things I would have given 5 stars. I like the look of the bed, and it doesn’t seem to squeak. It was fairly easy to assemble and follow the directions. Plenty of people had better luck than I did as far as the quality goes, but just be aware that there’s a chance of receiving a bed with scratches and/or non-fitting parts. ... show more

    • Supports Can Be Felt Through Mattress

So far this has been a great bed frame. It's very strong and durable. I would recommend using a good, supportive, mattress with this frame. I have a foam camping-style mattress with a memory foam topper and I can feel the support bars pressing against my hip and shoulders. Granted, I'm over 350 pounds and that probably contributes but a better, more supportive, mattress would probably be better. There were also some slight blemishes in the paint but for the price I'm ok with that. ... show more

For the amount of time it took (2ish hours) for one person to assemble it, you can tell that its sturdy as hell. I can only hope that it will stand the test of time and surpass my expectations. The only bad thing I can say is that pieces did come scratched and the instructions could have been clearer, other than that I'm pretty happy. ... show more
