I bought a similar areca palm last year from a popular store that only sells "lifelike" artifical plants. It cost the same as this one but was half the size and not nearly as nice. This fern has different sized fronds as well as lighter "new leaf" fronds to give it a more realistic appearance. The thick wired stems make it easy to position. 1st tree ordered was molded poorly on top stems preventing top leaves from properly locking in.. replacement tree was fine. Word of note to help anybody, if you notice the tree is "leaning" be advised that the main stems ARE bendable (wish the directions mentioned this) so if you carefully bend the main stems near the base you can straighten the tree right up... ... show more

I am so so pleased with this 7 foot tall artificial palm tree by AnTing . Wonderfully manufactured, flawless on arrival, extremely well packaged against possible damage in shipment, this life-like multi-branch palm tree is perfect for as a marvelous accent on my side patio. Assembly was super easy and this plant comes secured to it's own heavy base pot which is a nice touch for stability. I have recently, due to age, stopped utilizing live plants on my porches and patios because I am unable to properly care for them and artificial plants such as this are an excellent replacement for live plants. The material used in construction appears as if it will hold up well against the elements for a long time. I am very very happy with this item...thank you! ... show more

It lights up the whole room! You could make this bigger of smaller if you wanted! Just by adjusting the leaves in certain places, makes the plant not get as tall if that is something you prefer. Once it's fluffed up, you can't even tell it isn't real. And for it to look alive and not have yellow leaves and best of all NOT HAVE BUGS is everything I could every want. I want the look of a tree; I just don't want to take care of said tree. So having this is exactly what I was looking for! ... show more

This artificial plant's quality is decent, and you have to get pretty near before you start noticing it isn't real. It could be a little more dense, but overall looks good from a distance. It ships in a tall, narrow box with the topmost leaves unattached. They're not too hard to put in place, but the topmost three don't fit properly into the stems. Other stems were fine. Another reviewer mentioned this, so this doesn't seem isolated. It was also leaning pretty far in one direction out of the box, which required bending of basically every stem. After all of that, it took a bit of fanning before it finally looked good. It's not difficult, but pretty time consuming to get right. Since I have mine in a corner, I also turned some of the lower leaves around to face into the room. The base essentially looks like a black plastic pot. Workable if you can hide it behind something, but I plan on getting something more decorative in the future. One of the lower leaves had gotten a bit crumpled, folded up when the box was sealed. I was able to straight it out for the most part, but still hid it in the rear as it's not perfect. When unpacked, there was definitely a plasticy smell coming off, but it dissipated pretty quickly. It also didn't smell all that toxic or otherwise offensive. Still not plant-like, but certainly not gross smelling. As for how it actually fit in my space, I'd say quite well. I had an empty corner next to the television in my basement living room, a place that doesn't get much natural light. This filled the space very well, although I think I will need to do a little more tweaking with how the branches lay. Keep in mind that my picture was taken with the wide-angle lens (16mm equivalent) on my phone, making it appear smaller than it really is. It's a very large item, and I needed to use that to get it entirely in frame! For the price, it's really not a bad simulacrum of a tree. You can still tell it's fake when you get near, but from afar it adds a great presence of greenery. Considering that similarly-sized artificial areca palm trees usually go for double the price or more, it's more than acceptable. Just plan to take time to really arrange it properly! ... show more
