Description

Just because you are looking to get some armor does not mean you need to spend a fortune on it. This Ready for Battle Breastplate - Steel is a straightforward piece of protection for a modest sum of coinage, one that looks as good as it performs! This breastplate is designed so that it can be worn without a back plate, and it comes complete with all the buckles and straps necessary to put it on. It is crafted entirely in quality 18 gauge steel, which is thick enough to absorb impact and look incredibly realistic, while being thin enough to bend just slightly as need and sizing demands. When worn, it covers the front of the torso and curves around slightly onto the flank, just under the arms, which ensures that your shoulders are free to move (and so are your limbs), while your core receives plated protection. This armor is available in one standard size. Please note that because of its design, a chest measurement is omitted, as there is no part of the breastplate that wraps around the chest. Instead, the flank measurements are given, as these are the parts of armor that wrap around your core, just on your sides, below your arms. Please measure accordingly. It pairs great with a huge assortment of looks and styles, and that makes this Ready for Battle Breastplate - Steel a solid addition to your armory, allowing you to armour all of your favorite looks with ease. This item disappointed me in a dozen different ways. I did receive a breastplate as shown in my photo. However, that's the only thing that went right. When I first opened the package, I found the entire piece coated in some kind of oily, slimy gunk. I assume it was some sort of polish but without knowing what it was, it was a pain to remove. If that were the only issue I could give it a pass, but I also found that the shoulder on one side was BADLY deformed, despite the box being pristine. No problem, it took some doing, but I bent it back to match the other shoulder. Inconvenient, but I'll live. Then, 40 minutes of cleaning later, I attempted to put it on and I could not figure out how to fasten it. I returned to the images here and found IT ISN'T THE SAME ARMOR. The one I received has parts which rise over the front of the shoulders and somewhat around the neck. The one in the product image has no such part and the upper leather bands are much wider than on the one I received. So, I take it off and find that the fastener shown between the shoulder blades is nowhere to be found in the box. In other words, I have no way to even wear the armor, because it's impossible to fasten without it. Finally, I look down and find my shirt coated in the black paint that totally covers the inside of the plate, because it apparently transfers on contact. Even if I ignored all of that, the plate would only rate 'acceptable' because of the other defects, namely an unsightly streak of black paint on the collar area and the off-center point at the lowest part of the plate, which draws attention toward the groin if you are someone who is bothered by glaring asymmetry. All of that said, it could have been worse. If I'd been assembling a specific look only for it to be messed up by this thing, I'd have been furious. As is, I'm just deeply disappointed. ... show more

I am 249 lbs. and 6' tall, it fits fine. There isn't a back part of the armor except leather straps to keep it in place.

This was a great deal and a big find for my son whom loves to play medieval knights. It's a little snug on the sides and there is not a lot of room for growth. we did all the measurements and unfortunately the item does run small. Just FYI for everyone who will purchase one. Still worth it though.

My son purchased 4 of these in a couple of different sizes to use in his medieval wedding. They were well made, fit as per the sizing for the guys. They weren't uncomfortable and looked great in the wedding!
