  • Stunning video with amazing color distribution. Totally 4K!
Style: Add-on Camera Configuration: System Only
I'm coming off of a frustration of trying to get Amcrest cams to work with the Synology NAS. After beating my head against the wall trying to get it all to work, I gave up 2 weeks ago. Frustrated with trying to keep the wireless cams online, I yanked them and threw them in the garbage (literally). I purchased a Pro 3 and a Pro 2 separately along with the Ultra Smarthub to start off. Kind of sticking my toe in the water, I ran this for a week. Setup was ridiculously simple. Not over stating either. Performance exceeded my expectation by a lot. The big issue for people is loading speed. I'll just say before I had the Amcrest WiFi I had Ring which was even more frustrating. Not a good experience at all. Really long load times or just hanging. So far with Arlo, I can trace every issue directly to something on my network. I added 2 more Pro 3's just to make sure I wasn't just experiencing an anomoly. The network can keep up with the cameras no problem. Snappy response to load. Does Arlo ever hang or slow perform. ABSOLUTLEY! But very very infrequently once you get clean WIFI. Move that router as far as you can from the Arlo HUB. Remember, Arlo uses it's own little private network, so you just need to provide the hub with clear wired connectivity. Also make sure your cameras have as much unobstructed path to the hub. I have a Camera on the other side of my 3,000 square foot house. I have 4 bars. I added the Ultra to my now 5 camera set up. Wow! Even more gorgeous! Great Cam, field of view is amazing, covers my whole front house including the porch. I would recommend to a friend. I do have to be honest, the Pro 2 is very very disappoining. Color bleeding is bad at night. Night vision is pretty much unusable. I bought all my cameras but one refurbished. No issues at all, perfectly packed with all accessories. All pieces came EARLY. yea!!! I absolutely love this system so far!!!! ... show more

awesome camera. cant put a price on piece of mind! i started woth older arlos then bought pro 3 and now arlo ultra. camera picture quality is amazing and if you get tieed of changing batteries or you are putting somewhere yoy dont want to climb on ladder to get to, buy solar attachment. i havnt been up to change a battery in almost 4 months and shouldnt have to because the solar will charge it even in very low light and cloudy day. seriously easy to setup. do not hesitate. ... show more

  • Up and running quickly
Style: Add-on Camera Configuration: System Only
Added an additional camera to the system. Pretty straight forward and takes only a few minutes. The range on these cameras when connecting to the base station works better than many other devices in my home’s IoT environment. I can’t discern between the cameras I got with my original kit and this renewed add-on camera. Pretty great video quality and field of view. ... show more

  • Good, but not amazing
Style: Add-on Camera Configuration: System Only
I held out for a long while on getting a camera system (mainly because I wanted some Apple HomeKit compatibility), but I recently pulled the trigger on getting four of the Ultra 2 cameras (as well as the wired video doorbell). I’ll be honest, I expected 4K to be very, very good image quality, to where I was going to be able to digitally zoom in on things a bit, and still have good clarity, but I found that, although the native image is usually pretty clear, zooming in quickly deteriorates the image. Aside from that, my main complaint is that the streaming functionality of the cameras isn’t always dependably speedy (sometimes the app even has to be rebooted once or twice, before some/all of the cameras become reachable). I plan on keeping the system though, so hopefully some of my issues may be addressed via future firmware updates. ... show more

  • Arlo system is a toy. Don't buy it.
Style: Add-on Camera Configuration: System Only
1. It's not reliable. When someone comes to your place, there is a way to jam the signal to make your cameras blinded. 2. Often time, the images aren't stable; blurry, or skipped and you can't see what's the details of the images. The Arlo "4K" is a joke. It only can record on the slow objects and barely see the clear people's face or car's license plate. For the normal speed object passing by, you will not be able to see anything clearly even what kind of car. 3. Storage can be stored in the local USB flash drive, but each time, when you want to see the image; you will have to download it and the download speed depends on your wifi network. Otherwise, you will have to pay monthly subscription fee. I have raised download issue when store the images in local USB flash drive since August of 2021 and so far, it's not resolved or nothing is fixed. 4. If for some reason, one of the cameras got disconnected, you will have to re-sync with the base station. Also, it depends on where the cameras were installed. You will have to get a ladder to get each of them to re-sync. It's a huge hassle. 5. Tech support has no phone # support since Sept of 2021. All the support has to go through Arlo app and there's no way to hold any support team. Plus, the support folks are very slow to response to your questions and oftentimes the reply isn't relevant. You are going to spend a lot of time on your questions. You will be told there are someone will call you back or reply back. But you don't know when it's going to be. 6. Spot light is useless. It's too weak. It's even worse than the night vision on the infrared light image. 7. Motion detection is very slow sometimes. When a car of person passing by, Oftentime it only catches the last a couple of seconds and most of the time; camera has no reaction even a "zone" area was defined. ... show more

  • Great addition
Style: Add-on Camera Configuration: System Only
We've been using Arlo camera on the property for about 4 years now. This camera, with light works very well. We leave for work in the wee hours of the morning when it is still dark. With this new camera, we don't need to leave the porch light on. The notifications are a little funky. Email notification stopped working for me a few years ago. No idea why - it's still configured. I do like the addition of text messages that they added and those have been working for me. Overall, I'm happy with the cameras - this one in particular. ... show more
