  • Another Arken home run!
Size: SH4G2 6-24X50 Style: MIL
I just wanted mention a few things about this great scope. To see my 'credentials', please read my reviews of the Arken EP5 and the Discovery PRS scope here on Amazon. This scope fits my wants and needs, but it's size might be pushing the limit for a hunting rig. I no longer hunt, (no groundhogs here in Florida) but I'm an avid target shooter and have been one since the very early 70s. The glass is excellent but in all honesty, I haven't put this SH4, the EP5 and the Discovery PRS (I nicknamed the 'monster') to a side-by-side test. I made a fixture that allows any 3 Picatinny ringed scopes to be put side-by-side only a few inches apart. Amazing what you can observe when you can quickly go from #1, #2 and #3..... This scope is currently on a CZ 457 Varmint in 22 Mag. It will be coming off and going on a Ruger Precision Rimfire. Why? I just bought another EP5, to match the one on my new CZ 457 MTR. The RPRR currently wears a Vortex Diamond Back Tactical 6-24X50. Since I was initially pleased with this Vortex, the turrets and glass of the SH4 are orders of magnitude better than the Vortex. Try an Arlen's turrets, and you'll be sold. I was. Plus, the SH4 is actually cheaper. Pretty amazing the way the imported optics keep improving. Vortex does have a great reputation for warranty, but Arken's appears to be equal. We'll see. ron ... show more

  • I’ve found what I’m looking for!
100 yard zero at the range (variable westerly “stiff” breeze of 0-7 mph). It took me 5 shots to get zero& 2 confirmation shots to verify. Wanted to shoot 200 yards (my thing), but wasted too many boxes of ammo in the past trying to zero other long-range scopes. 6-24 has great eye-relief and the MOA is spot on. This is the scope I’m going to buy to rule all others. I was reluctant to review this awesome scope because I will gladly pay a tad more for more of these (got two more LR-308s and an AR-15) incredible scopes. My understanding is the owner of Arken is a former Seal. That’s enough for me. And thank you “Cyclops” for urging me to “pull the trigger” on this one. One more thing… this competes with my Athlon 6-24, which I also highly prize. ... show more

  • Best bang for your buck precision scope.
I have nothing bad to say about the scope it tracks perfectly very simple to zero, holds zero even with larger centerfire cartridges the only scope I'm aware of in this price range that can compete with much higher end price scopes comes with parallax and a pretty forgiving eye really adjustment. Overall if you're looking to get into precision shooting on a budget this is the scope to do it. ... show more

  • Very accurate for ranging, excellent internal mechanisms for tracking.
Size: SH4G2 6-24X50 Style: MIL
Before I got this Arken scope I bought and return other 3 scopes. None was accurate for ranging, which is very important to calculate the bullet drop with distance. Other scopes I bought were highly unaccurate, failing by 30 yards when calculating distances of near 100 yards. Unacceptable to have 30% failure. The scope I received is very accurate for calculating distances by 2%, which is more than enough. The optic also is very well done (reticle). I am very happy with it. The cons: is a little big, and heavy. ... show more

  • Surprisingly good
So far so good. Surprisingly good for such a low price. I was so reluctant to try one since I am accustomed to buying Leupold and Zeiss, but I did it and presently I am not disappointed. I just hope it holds up to a beating and remains true. Check out the various reviews by folks online... its pretty impressive. I am going to use this one for a year trying to compete with it and see what happens. If it holds up, I will most likely buy another one. ... show more

  • Love it!!!
Size: SH4G2 6-24X50 Style: MIL
Was curious at first and read tons of reviews. Took the leap of faith and boy I am glad I did. I own Vortex, Athlon, Simmons and Burris. Glass- Clear up to roughly 18-20x magnification but passed that it starting to get dark. Turrets- These things are amazing. Every click positive and the tracking is so amazing. I tried the twister and it comes back to zero perfectly. In all - knowing that it comes with a lifetime warranty this piece of equipment is amazing. ... show more

  • It's heavy but it's GOOD
This scope does everything you need it to do. The glass is clear, the adjustments are spot-in, the tube is big enough to let in lots of light in those twilight hours, and the reticle is lovely. Even at 24x, the clarity is amazing, and all the features that this scope comes with easily justify a higher price. I (stupidly) bought this to put on a hunting setup, and it's just too cumbersome for that purpose. If you're target shooting or doing long-range stuff, this scope is perfect, but I wouldn't recommend it for hiking around the backcountry. The pics are at 100 yards with an unmodified (stock) Tikka in .308. I could easily shoot 1-MOA with this scope (which is good for me), but a buddy managed this sub-quarter-inch group with match ammo, using that 308 and this Arken scope. This scope won't fix your trigger pull, but you can't hit what you don't see, and this scope shows you everything. ... show more
