I've been using this for a couple of months now to help control my moustache as I'm growing it out to a handlebar. It's designed in a way that the heating elements won't touch your skin but will comb through your hair. It takes about two minutes for it to reach max temperature, which is pretty hot, but it would be difficult to burn yourself. It is possible to burn your hair, though, so you do want to keep it moving as you're combing through. I make sure my moustache is wet and I also add a little beard balm to protect from the heat. Water will turn to steam while using this, and it sometimes pops a bit, so there is still some risk of burns. This has really helped with controlling my moustache and keeping it neat. It will not leave moustache or beard hair perfectly straight. Nothing but a chemical straightener will do that. Heat and water help break the hydrogen bonds that cause your hair to curl and have kinks, but it's a very temporary fix. I've read some reviews claiming this doesn't work, but I think people just have the wrong expectations. The comb's teeth are fairly far apart and not very fine, but I think that's a necessary compromise. Would be nice to have an easy way to clean this. The storage bag is nice and appreciated. My husband had a beard straightener like this one before and it would take forever to heat and wasn’t too hot. It was in a car accident with us and started smelling electrical when in use, so I bought this one. It works fantastically, but even on the lowest setting my husband finds it too hot. Also, I’m Not sure what it is.. but he has “turned it off” many times on the way out and we’ve found that it never turned off… besides that it works great. It heats up fast and does its job. I been using this for about a year. It works great. My beard is over 4 inches long. Thick. Straightens very very well. The bristles do not hold up as good though. A few broke off after a year of use.

    • i THINK its ok... until its time to clean it

I THINK it works well, is my first straightener so nothing to compare it to. I will say for my beard it takes me like 20 minutes of straightening before im happy enough so maybe its just "OK". I got mine in 2022 for my beard. BUT. Once there begins to be some build up burned onto the heat elements from your protective spray/detangler/oils, it is difficult to clean. The issue is the heat elements, or "teeth", are too close together so getting between them with some type of nylon bristle brush to knock of the build up is quite a hassle. To be fair, I have not cleaned mine consistently, maybe every month or 2. if you clean it on a weekly basis yours may last longer without the build up getting too bad but also depends how much product is in your beard when you straighten it. For example at times the beard just isnt cooperating when you straighten it , you think a little oil and balm will do the trick but then it doesnt, so then you go to straighten some more, now theres product getting on the heat elements.... it all adds up and eventually cakes onto the teeth and is burned and has a smell that will just go into your beard if you use it like that. So now im in the market for one that has a bit better spacing in the teeth so cleaning is more efficient. ... show more

Portable. Use on my beard which is about 3-4” long. Have used on my daughter’s hair, it helps but it is super long. Pretty safe to use if you’re careful. Would buy again. Gets pretty hot on the highest setting.
