Got this to have something portable aside from the old skool hammers. Tested it out on a bias ply truck tire that's been on a rim outside for 20+ years. Only weakness is the roll pin that connects the nut to the top of the ram. It broke almost immediately with my air impact set at 2! No problem. I just threw a tack weld on it and away we go. Probably not the best steel either. The bill and hook both bent a little but I was working it pretty hard. After welding the nut I turned the impact up to max and gave it hell. Final review: not unbreakable or without its flaws but good enough for the job it's intended for. My advise weld the nut and oil it right out of the box ... show more

I used this to break the very stubborn beads on some Hoosier race tires with extremely stiff sidewalls. My HF tire changer with a lever type bead breaker couldn't touch them. The bucket loader on my 7000 pound tractor didn't phase them. This tool took a while but did manage to break them. I had to move it a few times to loosen them and then finished with the HF tool. I wouldn't use it unless the lever type couldn't manage a tire, as it is slower and more finicky, but for tough tires it is great. ... show more

Works like it should the only problem I have with it is tug role pin in the top nut is to soft it strip out the first time I used it.I replaced it with a harder pin and it worked fine I am considering welding the nut on the shaft .
