  • Programming is awkwardly different from other Arudini
While I love the idea of having built-in Bluetooth vs. an external HC-05/HM-10/HM-19 module and a much faster core speed, I found that it was not really practical to move existing code for the 8-bit AVR cores over to this platform. While all the Arduino platform functions (digitalWrite() etc) are there, they're running on top of mbed OS (a real-time operating system) and can be unworkably slow unless you figure out how to use the mbed.h library functions. And then your code is tied to this platform. Also, many libraries haven't been rewritten to work on this device. Oh, and it takes much, much, much longer to compile a project. Overall, I think it's a great little device at a good price point, but I'm not sure that I want to learn another framework (or half a framework) with only a single supported device. But that's just me with a pile of legacy Arduino code. ... show more

  • Problematic connection and programming; but functional
Using the latest Arduino IDE 1.8.10 on Windows 10 and the board support version 1.1.3; the device is problematic to use. The board support currently is annoying to use. 1) Your compile times for the smallest of sketches will take 10 times longer than other Arduinos. I am currently seeing several minutes minimum before I can start the upload. Upload is fast, compile and link is ridiculous. Any small syntax error and you lost another two minutes of your life. 2) The serial connection to the device is problematic. Any time the device resets (after upload, hitting the reset button, etc) the serial port will change. This requires a very specific work flow to not get totally annoyed while you are developing... a) make sure to close all serial monitor windows b) double tap the reset button, then c) select the serial port for the device in the tools menu, then d) compile and upload your sketch, then wait for it to reset (two minutes at least) e) go back to the tools menu and select the serial port again (it will be different) f) finally open the serial monitor e) rinse and repeat until you have a functional sketch And to make things worse, it starts to leave duplicates in the list of serial ports menu. (see picture). You can ignore them as they all represent the same item; but they get in the way of understanding which is the correct one to use. Always look for the one with the name after it (Nano 33 BLE). ... show more

  • It’s better than the Nano v3 when it works.
This Arduino is so much better than the older Nano. Although first time I received a Nano that smoked when I connected it to USB. Don’t know. Returned 1 of 3 of it. But anyway, what I don’t like with the BLE is the it takes forever to compile the sketch. Sometimes 10 mins. But functionality, this is better than the Nano v3. Be aware that some libraries are not compatible with this. ... show more

  • Quite Powerful
I bought this to create a head racking device for Radio Controlled flight. So far I have programmed it (flashed a file) and calibrated it. Very good price performance for the size and power of this unit.

  • Great processor board with motion sensor and Bluetooth Low Energy
The Arduino Nano 33 BLE processor modules are fun to use and have the same motions sensor as on the Nano 33 BLE Sense boards for about $12 less. Amazing processor value for the price.

  • Product and delivery are fairly good.
Product and delivery are fairly good as other Amazon product. But you need to know Arduino Nano 33 BLE needs you kind of effort to set up for your use because it is new. I recommend you to search for the version before purchasing it.
