  • Excellent. Easy to use.
This is excellent camera module. It was a bit tricky to assemble the camera stand, other than that it is working flawlessly. You can control the focus via i2c. There are samples on github.com. The camera is medium view. For my project i would have preferred a narrow-er view mode or ideally the ability to install M12 lens, but you cant have it all. The camera is standard Pi 5MP module, the only extra thing is the ability to adjust the focus via i2c bus. You can adjust the focus while raspivid is running. ... show more

  • Better than the official Raspberry Pi V2 camera
I like this camera so much better than the official Raspberry Pi V2 camera! The white balance adjusts automatically (in contrast to the official V2, which has pinkish tint in many environments). There is focus control, but it requires some software (simple code that works over I2C). This is more convenient than mechanical control of the V2, which is not always possible to do if the camera is in a case. There is no autofocus, though, but it is fine for my application (OctoPi). And finally, it makes much more sense for the price. ... show more

  • Nice Product
I used this camera for one of my research and learning projects. As described the camera works perfect, reasonably easy to assemble and operate with a raspberry. The very nature of the product demands the user to be a bit technical. The autofocus script example from the codebase works fine without issues for me. I would recommend it for anyone who is looking for a good quality camera. Two opportunity areas for the manufacturer i would quote 1. The camera case assembly is a bit tricky. Maybe a future version will improve the design. 2. The fact that it needs technical knowledge for operation. Example : python knowledge. I dont think this is a big minus - just a minor callout. ... show more

  • Easy to use.
Simple and easy to setup, control and use especially for the price. I bought more than one and plan to buy more for my home-made indoor security system. Only thing lacking is ability to record sound. Does anyone have experience recording video with sound on the Raspberry pi?

  • Looks nice
UPDATE: Ummmmm.... yeah..... Turns out I had *TWO* bad cables on my Pis. Once I replaced those with the ones that came with the cams (too short for my purpose), they work just fine. And they focus too! I'll just keep the one I was gonna return. :) ORIGINAL (BAD) REVIEW: But I can't get my RPi 4 to detect it. The classic RPi camera is detected and works just fine. Tech support for ArduCAM is non-existent, and there's no response on ArduCAM forums for my question about what may be wrong. Again, vcgencmd detects the RPi camera, but not this ArduCAM. ANd I have three ArduCAMs currently but none are detected. I tried them on one RPi3 and two RPi 4s, running Raspbian Buster. Guess I'll end up returning them. ... show more

  • Not sure to be honest
Couldnt get it to work. Just to clarify it wouldn't do what i hoped it would. Not sure if it was me or the camera but i was trying to use it for octopi to see my printing but it never loaded after hours of testing.
