  • Takes abuse like a champ
Style: 1 HP Sump Pump
DISCLAIMER: I don't use this as intended. Regardless, it's doing great, so take from that what you will. Basically, the filter pump for my 12'/30" Bestway pool died and I needed something cheap and fast because it's been boiling outside and there isn't enough algaecide to keep the pool clear in this heat. I bought this, attached a 1-micron filter bag to the outlet via a metal hose clamp, and dropped it in. This was meant to be a temp solution, but I think I'm going to keep it as my water is now clearer than it ever was with the traditional filter. This thing is powerful and moves water FAST. At one point the filter bag blew off, and I came outside to see a mini-fountain bubbling up from the middle of my pool. Haven't had an issue with mosquitoes or algae, either, as this keeps the water flowing. Of course, I unplug and remove it before swimming. It's completely silent underwater too, so I can run it all night without worrying about disturbing our neighbors. Will update at the end of the season as to whether or not it survives. It's taken 14-hour use stretches with no sign of corroding or slowing down, so I'm pretty optimistic! ... show more

  • Quiet, powerful, ~1680 GPH thru a 1.25" hose
Style: 1 HP Sump Pump
This pump is powerful and whisper quiet. Only a low hum is emitted as it pumps water. I used it to empty my hot tub. My hot tub has to be emptied and refilled every year as routine maintenance. It holds about 300 gallons of water. The hot tub comes with a drain but trickling the water out of the drain takes hours. So I got this pump to try to speed that up. The pump worked really well. I connected the pump to a 1.25" x 50' hose, dropped the pump in the water and let it run. Took about 10 minutes. I shut it off when started to suck air. There was 10-20 gallons remaining. The pump did a good job getting down to the bottom -- most of that unpumped water was unreachable in the nooks and crannies of the hot tub. I just mentioned it to get a good idea of pump performance. 280 gallons in 10 minutes is 1680 GPH. Which is not as fast as advertised (4500 GPH) but plenty fast enough to allow me to finish the annual maintenance in half a morning. ... show more

  • Good pump for the cost
Style: 1/2 HP Sump Pump with Float
I think this pump worked very well. I've used it once - to empty my pool - it pumped roughly 16 thousand gallons in what I consider a reasonable amount of time - the only reason I gave it 4 stars was that I had a hard time keeping the floating kill switch up to pump all the way to the bottom of the pool. The switch wire is clipped into the carry handle to keep it elevated- my switch constantly fell out of the clip causing the pump to turn off before it was finished - I was forced to tie it off and this allowed the pump to run until as much water as possible was removed - but that being said I would recommend this pump to others ... show more

  • Easy to setup and use. Whisper quiet and powerful. I recommend the 1 HP unit.
Style: 1 HP Sump Pump
I used it to drain a 32,000 gallon pool. It took less time than anticipated and I was using a common garden hose.

  • Great BUY
Style: 1 HP Sump Pump
This pump is amazing . It easily shoots 25 feet of water in the air . We use it in a fountain and it works as well as 1 hp pumps that cost more than$200.00 . Wish I had found this company years ago .

  • Small and powerful
It took a little to get it going but once on it worked well. Used it to get water off top of pool cover.

  • Very powerful
Style: 1 HP Sump Pump
I purchased this to replace my old pump. We decided to empty our above ground pool this year to clean it. This pump worked great. It emptied over 13,000 gallons of water much quicker than the old pump. We were able to attach the hose from the pool vacuum to the pump which allowed it to pump more water at a time. It does allow you to attach different size hoses depending on your needs. I would highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Not a 1 HP pump !!!
Style: 1 HP Sump Pump
I bought this to replace a 1/6 hp pump that I was using to heat my pool. The 1/6 hp pump was giving me (2) GPM or (120) GPH with a 10' head, which was not enough flow. I installed this motor in place and did not get any better flow than my 1/6 hp pump and this one was rated for 1 hp.....6X bigger. I pulled the pump, although it said 1 hp is claimed 3 Amps. If you do the math on 3 Amps x 115V = 345 Watts which is calculates less than 1/2 hp. I would have been happy if it would have performed at even the 1/2 hp level. It did plug in and run and water flowed but not near the rate that it should. ... show more
