If you're like me, with an inground pool and in need of a pump, this is not your pump. I know what you're thinking and feeling - you're seeing some decent reviews and thinking that it just might work out for to get a cheap pump instead of spending over $1k on a new pump. But you're wrong. It won't work. It'll be pretty easy to install and it'll sound good, but it won't be what you need. It won't circulate the water, it won't give the pressure to get water to your slide. Your water won't be clear and your wife will be upset with you. The kids will still swim but you'll be embarrassed when their friends come over. You'll hang your head in shame when you have people over. You'll eventually buy that better pump and have to redo your fittings again. If you're like me, this pump is not for you. This is probably a great pump if have an above ground pool - so shoot your shot if you got one. ... show more

I just installed the pump as a replacement for a worn unit. Of course, I had to do some minor replumbing but that is expected. Once I figured out how to set up the timer, which is very nice by the way, came right on and you could barely hear it. very quiet. I purchased the 3 hp my old one was a 2 so, the suction and pool movement is incredible. Since it's brand new I gave it 4 stars. at the end of summer ill update. ... show more

    • Don’t waste your money
I bought this after my pump I had after 9 yrs went out. I needed something fast, thought I would try it out. Pump worked great for a week then it got super loud, it overheats and shuts off on it own, then finally it got so loud you could hear it from my neighbors house two houses down. Now it stopped all together. So only lasted 2 months. Now I am spending today trying to get another one before my pool turns green. Tried contacting company for warranty, but it is in Italy and no one picks up or responds to email. Spend the extra $500 and get a real pump. ... show more

Installation went well. Everything fit well. the pump is noticeably much quieter than my old 1.5 hp Hayward unit. However as mentioned in a couple other reviews the flow rate is definitely not as much as with my 1.5hp unit I had.
