  • Aquabeads are so much fun!
Our family LOVES aquabeads! They are so fun and very easy to create with. This case is super adorable and a fun addition to our aquabead collection. The outside is decorated really nice and they have an area where you can display your own creations. This is such a cool touch! The case enables you to carry your aquabead collection wherever you want! ... show more

  • Great addition to the Aquabead family!
The media could not be loaded. This is a new product from Aquabeads that include a nice twist. I'm not going to go over the Aquabeads concept, as you can easily look that up, instead I'm going to talk about this set specifically. What I don't think is emphasized in the description for this set is that it really encourages your child decorate & display their creations. The case and the purple square (display board) has holes which are compatible with specific parts ("design pegs") found in this set. After you make your creations, use 6 beads to make a circle. Spray water to set it. Once it's dried, center on your piece & spray again. (See pics.) Once it has dried, stick the white design peg into the center of the circle. That will then allow you to "snap" the design oeg onto the board or case. A nice little feature is that even the handle can come apart to display more creations. It can also be used to slightly curve your pieces. (See pic) This is a nice new spin to the Aquabeads line. The tray contains enough slots for all your beads, that come in regular round, star & jewel shapes. Cons: I know they really tried to make use of the case, but I'm not a fan. The georgous front "lock" is not functional & I really wish it was. Instead it's a latch closure on the top. (See pic) Definitely be careful of how you open & close the case. It takes a few tries to get the hang of it. One wrong move & you got beads all over your floor. (See pic on how to properly open case.) While the design pegs are a nice new idea, you definitely don't get many. This is unfortunate, because if you loose any, then you can't display them anymore. At the time of this writing, this is so new, there are no videos to talk about it. I was able to find a little info on the aquabeads site and its similar to the Aqua Beads Case. ... show more

  • Terrible case. Headache to fix beads if they didn't glue right
We have used similar products in the past. The concept is simple, lay the beads on a template in the design of your choice, spray with water, wait for them to dry - done. The execution of this particular product is poor. First, starting with the case. Do not put your beads in the white compartment tray as is. Chances are, the next time your child opens the case, all the beads will be scattered on the floor. These really do scatter everywhere - a nightmare. Took us forever to gather most of them up. To avoid this, you have to open the case in a certain way. We are putting our beads now in little craft boxes with lids that I bought from a craft store. Moving on to instructions. They are poorly written in a very tiny font, each step in multiple languages. Each language sentence doesn't even have its own paragraph - it is all just lumped together. I as an adult had a hard time reading them. Why can't they print separate pages for different language as it was in the "old days"? I know I am being picky, but if I had trouble with instructions, then the kids will have a harder time for sure. Finally, execution. You insert the paper template into the notches on the back side of the clear blue tray. You lay a clear white plastic pegboard flap over it and put the beads on top. The little pen that supposed to help dropping beads onto the pegboard is somewhat bulky and very awkward to use. Same goes for the opposite side of that pen that supposed to pick up the beads. My 5 year old daughter gave up on it and used her fingers to lay the beads. Again, the instructions on how to use that pen were poor as well. We choose a tiny purse as our first design. The amount of water needed to set the beads is not clear. There is a picture of a design covered in a puddle of water with a green check mark next to it. So we put a healthy amount of water on our design as well, but definitely not a huge puddle of it. The instructions say to count to 10 then flip the plastic pegboard. That was a fun part. Flipping the pegboard sent the beads to the other side of the blue tray still in tact, without problems. Next, instruction was to wait 10 minutes. We set a timer and after the 10 minute wait, we proceeded with flipping the design upside down as instructed. Well, at that point it just fell apart. Perhaps, we should have waited longer, or used less water, or misread the instructions. In either case, I spent a lot of time trying to put it back together. Each time the beads would stick to my hands or the tweezers, and back to my hands. It took a lot of tries and patience to finally fix it. At that point, my daughter lost her interest and wanted to do something else. Eventually, the final design dried and actually turned out very nice. But it was a lot of effort to get there. We will give this toy another try for sure. But so far, I am not impressed. ... show more

  • Everything You Need Included
The Aquabeads deluxe carry case comes with 1400 beads, an organizer, and all the tools and templates needed to start creating designs. Everything stores neatly inside the case and there is room for additional beads to be added if needed. The kit came with a variety of smooth and textured beads. The instructions state that a bitterness agent has been applied to the beads to discourage kids from putting them in their mouth, and to wash hands after each use to ensure the bitter coating is washed off before other activities. ... show more

  • Unique, large, and complete Aquabeads set
We are an experienced Aquabead family. We own many sites, including most of the Disney ones. This set was an add-on to our existing ones. I really could’ve done with a refill, but I like the fact that this one had a storage container. The Aquabead concept is simple. Think of this as Perler beads, except with little beads that you spray water on instead of iron to get them to adhere to one another. The one unique thing that stood out about the set is that it had a wearable Aquabeads. This set includes a ring and bracelets that you could make designs for and attach. None of her other sets have ever had wearable aqua beads. This was a huge hit with my nearly seven-year-old. ... show more

  • Not for beginners!
I wasn’t familiar with Aquabeads, but they looked like fun for my 4.5 yr. old grand, so I ordered them. Thank goodness I decided to get acquainted with this set before letting her play with them. Just opening the case was challenging; it is not functional, in my opinion. The directions are overwhelming. This particular set is not for beginners, and it seems too advanced for 4 year olds. ... show more
