Our meticulously graded gravels and sands are the perfect natural substrates for any aquarium including planted tanks. Our high quality products create natural beauty combined with large surface areas for beneficial bacteria colonies and easy cleaning. Contains bio activated live nitrifying bacteria to either use as a primary substrate or mix with substrate for a healthy aquarium. Contains a patented blend of live nitrosomas and nitrobacter bacteria which break down and convert harmful ammonia, into nitrates.

Will cloud up at first , I would use a plate or something to not stir up the water when filling your tank. My water pentameters look good no change there so I would recommend. It’s also appealing to the eye it looks good don’t need to cap it

All of these negative reviews from people saying it clouds aren’t putting it in correctly. You put the soil in, lay a plastic bag down over the soil and fill the water OVER the bag slowly. It will not cloud! My tank just finished being filled as you can see there is NO clouding. This substrate is fantastic. I use it for all my tanks. Galaxy sand paired with diamond black is my go to. Then use Fluval cycle (pictured above) and your tank will cycle in less than a week. Happy fish keeping! ... show more

I just kinda dumped this into an aquarium I was cycling and man did it get cloudy! Not a big deal, it settles down in a day. I’m sure if I’d have added it more slowly and not just dumped the whole bag in, it wouldn’t have taken as long to settle. I love that it has bacteria in it for a shorter cycling time. It made my water murky but it’s soft and looks nice when it settles dirty stuff sits on top easy to clean up. Don’t drop it it makes a mess . Place it gently or you’ll pay lol.

Looks fantastic in my betta fish tank! Also has helped with my tank cycling and fertilizer for my plants. Betta fish seems to enjoy resting his fins on the sand compared to the pebbles. Looking forward to adding cherry shrimp in the future I just know they will enjoy this sand.

    • Be patient with the cloudiness
Yes, when I initally added this to my aqaurium I thought "oh this is horrible!". The water was so cloudy that I couldn't see my plants... Within 72hrs it settled 100%, and water is crystal clear. So don't panic, just wait it out :-)
