Bought this to continue some physical therapy exercises and found it worked well not only for those specific tasks, but also for other core exercises. It's small enough that I can keep under a table in my living room but just the right size for workouts. The pump is really easy to use too. Comes with 2 needles that just screw on to the pump, insert into the valve and pump away. In seconds its inflated to your liking. Pull it out and it stays put. I purchased the first one about 3 months ago and have only needed to "touch up" the level of air once, using it 3x per week (abductor ball squeeze). The 2nd purchase was while on vacation. Yes, it is a ball, it is reddish. But it's not the same playground ball we saw as kids. It is a bit smaller, and appears to be made of less durable material... It may be ok for a kid's ball. But beware, it's not the same..
