I have a 2012 Chevy Volt which can't draw more than 16 amps regardless of the charger level I choose, so this fact saved me money with a charge topping out at that level. Charging in 3 to 4 hours rather than over 11 is the main benefit for me here. The charger seems to be very heavy duty, solid construction and works well with a plug converter (NEMA 14-50P to 6-20R/6-15R T-Blade Adapter). The included NEMA 5-15 adapter was nice since it enabled me to run this from standard 110 voltage until I had could have a 240-volt outlet installed by an electrician in anticipation of buying a fully modern EV in the future. I'm unsure if this is related or just coincidence, but after beginning to use this I seemed to consistently get a few miles less of total estimated capacity from the car's battery. I haven't tested with the car's older included charger, so again I may be off base with this minor quibble. Definitely recommended if your amperage requirements don't exceed that of standard U.S. household current! ... show more

Bought this to charge my model 3. Of course it doesn’t give you a fast charge. But it does help adding mileage over night and also keep the battery charged when you have Cabin Overheat on.

Was looking for an inexpensive 110v charger to use when staying at a hotel with an available outlet. Very pleased. Charger does not get hot when charging. I don't have a way of checking amps but consistently get 3% per hour charging at 110v versus the charger that came with my car getting 2% per hour so assume it's pulling around 15 amps. ... show more
