  • Allows me to easily use 3rd channel for lights on-off switch.
Recommend. My kids are happy now they can turn their RC lights on/off. Very cool.

  • Buy this switch right now!
I'm really happy with my first purchase, so mush so that I bought 3 more. I have these on all my RC cars now. No need to waste battery life running your LEDs all the time. The switch is really small and fit inside the receiver box on all of my RCs (Traxxas slashes and crawlers from various companies). I've always had lights on my RC crawlers as most of them come with lights installed. I always add a few extra lights to make crawling at night more fun. With a light bar, fender well and rear lights all hooked up, my battery was dying pretty quickly. Now I just switch the lights off during the day and they're ready to go with the flick of a switch when I need them. This is one of my favorite purchases for my RC cars, I really think every RC car should come with one. ... show more

  • Works great
Purchased for a custom crawler build, it works great! Plug in to any unused channel of the receiver, and the LED control box then program the proper channel on the transmitter.

  • Works everytime! Apex rc products always does!!
Have multiple Apex light bars, switches, their servo horns and many more, all are outstanding quality. Put one lightbar on a traxxas ruslter vlx and wow it took alot alot alot of abuse before the wiring snapped off the soldering points and mangled the housing throughout that process quite badly. High quality and strong though for 50+mph wipe-outs. Took the light pod and led board back home and re soldered it some time later. Lit back up like nobody's business, been through mud water and even fire. This light bar was amazing and now lives on a dedicated crawling rig. My other light bar spent 10 minutes (on) in a lake roughly 8 ft deep as I was trying to fish it out using a shovel, the only way I could see it was the light bar. And have had no issues to this day with that same light bar, pulled it out if the water. Didnt even turn it off. The switches are quality as is most anything made by Apex, real easy to hook up to the desired channel and toggle the switch. Works like a charm everytime. I will definitely be ordering many many more switches, and I tell anyone to go to apex for good price, good quality light bars, and switches, highly recommend! Thanks ... show more

  • Modification needed to achieve full potential
This switch uses the power from the rc reciever to power an accessory. If you use it like it comes out of the packaging you will only have whatever voltage your reciever operates at and you can easily over draw on amps. In order to use to its full potential, remove the ground and positive wires from the lead that connects to the reciever and connect them to your battery (max 7.4 vdc) and plug the remaining wire (signal wire) into the reciever on the channel you are using to control the switch. This will enable full voltage and the potential to use at the full 2 amps. You must use the battery that is powering the reciever (common ground). ... show more

  • Bought for traxxas light kit .
Its plug and play with traxxas trx4 light kit controller . Its just now you need to mount that switch somewhere or stuff it in your receiver box . I use the gts-5 for the 3rd channel light switch and eventually 4 channel winch . This radio uses a gyroscope receiver so it has to be mounted flat inside that box . You add in the BEC and your not getting this in there . Just a warning . Its tiny anyways , the wires are the bulk of it . So that's why the 3 stars for install . But that's with any of them . Anyways , its remove the controller plug from receiver , plug into the switch (connectors on it already , no soldering) and reconnect switch plug into receiver , done . That part took 30 seconds =) . ... show more

  • Good but not great.
Bought a few of these. They are inexpensive and work well on a button third channel. The bad: not covered in conformal coating, no safety cutoff in the event something shorts, one of the latest l purchased is flaky and turns lights on and won't turn off until the vehicle is turned off. After that it works for a bit then does the same. The others work fine. As I said they are cheap and generally work ok. ... show more

  • Awesome channel switch
I installed on my trx 4 to switch the aftermarket lights and esc fan on and off with the tough of a button on my transmitter. Definitely worth it. It's also long so there should be no issues with routing wires to fit probably any 1/10 scale vehicle... probably even 1/8 or even 1/6 (maybe) scale
