  • Nice sight. I was able to sight in my ...
Nice sight. I was able to sight in my bow without even turning the led on. The cross hairs and the non illuminated led can be seen in day light no problem. So if the battery would go dead you can still shoot unless it is a low light condition 1/2 hour before sunrise / 1/2 after sunset. The led can be as large and bright as you need or as small and dim as you need. The led can not be seen from the outside of the lens in the dark if it is set on lowest 1,2, or 3 of the 11 settings so you will not be seen by deer or other critters. 2nd and 3rd axis adjust is super easy. The adjustments are great for everything except for the lock down for the micro adjust left to right. You can still get two clicks on the micro-adjust in either direction when the locking bolt is tight which is not a big deal but it should lock down tight and it does not. I have noticed glare on the lens at certain angles but have not had a problem with it while shooting. The lens is plastic but it is crystal clear and seems very durable. The temperature is warm so I have no report on lens fogging up. Vertical adjustment is smooth and locks down tight but the lock is hard to reach on the inside of the sight unless the bow is laying on your lap with the arrow shelf up. This works fine for me because of the way I hunt but it maybe a problem for some. The directions are on the inside of the upper Apex label inside the package so don't throw that away if you are not sight adjustment savvy. The 60 plus sight tapes are in the neoprene sight cover that comes in the package. Overall a nice sight. Highly adjustable. Solid with no vibrations. I have owned my fair share of sights and there are other sights that are more solid but none of them are as easy to adjust as this sight and none of them have the sight picture this sight offers. The sight is nice and compact. The price is nice for the quality of this sight. I would recommend this sight but only time will tell the durability and limitations of the sight. For now I am satisfied. I have not found a sight yet that I would rate as a five star but that said this is a solid sight for the money. This is the only sight of its kind that I have found except for the TruGlo Range Rover Pro which is made by the same manufacture of this sight so you may want to check that one out also. There is a plastic magnification lens available for this sight .5 or x2 but it has mixed reviews on quality. I shoot with both eyes open so I will not be needing it for my setup. I hope this helps other hunters that are on the fence about this sight. For the review this sight was mounted to a Mathews No Cam HTR. ... show more

  • Lighted Pin Point Accuracy and Great Micro-Adjustment Options!
I'm cross dominant with my left eye and right bow arm. This lens helps me train my right eye to coordinate properly by reducing the distance of the target slightly and help control target panic. I use this with an Apex Gear 1 Dot Covert 2x Zoom lens and it works wonders. I shoot indoors mostly, so I cannot give an in depth look in outdoor, low temp hunting situations that could cause this to fog up as others have brought up. This is possible since there is a small space between this sight's lens and the zoom lens it is designed to attach to. The only thing that I noticed that bothered me down the line as I kept using it is the weight. It gives my bows some forward weight, so it is definitely something to compensate for. Overall, this has helped me very much with accuracy and target panic, by giving me a little bit more zoom with the 2x lens and the 1-dot accuracy. It is made of an aluminum body and plastic knobs which are great for all the elevation/windage microadjustments instead of whipping out the allen/hex wrench sets! THIS was the primary reason I purchased this sight. (I want to try another brand for easier to manage adjustments). The green dot has multiple brightness levels and is not seen from the opposite side of the sight to prevent scaring away what you are hunting. The way it works for me is I close my left eye to look through the sight with the 2x zoom lens for a placement, open my left eye to look at the target and use my right eye to align the green lighted dot (covert pro) with what I see with my left. The covert pro is indispensable to my archery experience, specifically for its green dot light. I have attached these to a Diamond Infinite Edge, SAS Rage and Oneida Screaming Eagle with problems whatsoever. ... show more

  • Small set screws -- not robust!
I really like the concept and the lighted pin design and quality. I wish the following design and quality were better: 1. My biggest issue is the 2 small cheap set screws on the dovetail slide for setting initial 20 yard elevation. Instructions said not to over tighten so I carefully snug them. After a dozen shots at 20 yds, while shooting, the whole lens piece slid off and fell! Luckily I was on grass and no damage to the lense and was lucky to find the small metal shim that the set screws push against. Then I tightened the set screws slightly more but one of the set screws head began to round off! Wish these screws were bigger and of better steel ( probably Chinese cheap junk!) 2. The very small uncommon cheap Allen wrench provided for the above screws, from the beginning, fits kind of loose in the screw and probably contributed to rounding off the head! There is another pair of even smaller set screws which I have not yet needed to touch ( scared to mess with it!) and no Allen wrench is provided for that. The other 2 Allen wrenches in the package doesn't fit anything on this sight! 3. Looks to me with the price touching $200, the manufacturer can supply better set screws, a few spare screws and quality odd size Allen wrenches that fit for another $3! I plan to call the manufacturer to see if they send me some small screws. I'll give this some more patiently trials/ efforts and if I feel these tiny screws will not be robust enough to hold up to hunting conditions, then I plan to return the item. Just a note on the 2x lense. It does a good job of giving a bigger target picture, but the downside is that it will proportionally magnify the movement of the lighted dot on the target which adds to "target panic" issue which could make your groupings worse. It's a personal judgement if you have target panic issues with more pin movement. Thanks! ... show more
