The media could not be loaded. I bought this pump with the intention of building a small waterfall feature on an island scape in my front yard. I wish it worked with a battery and ran during the darker hours, but other than that, this 25w pump is very powerful when the sun is shining brightly and still runs when the sun hides in the clouds. I just set it up, so I will edit this review if something goes wrong PRO: Powerful for its size and price and with it being solar powered CONS: It doesn’t work at night (which it’s not meant to, but there were really no other solid choices for this want. The hose it comes with is VERY soft, so if you’re running it between rocks or around right corners, it will kink on you. The pump itself is bright orange and black, so if you’re trying to be discreet, you’ll have to make some sort of hiding spot for it under water. Solar panel is pretty large. ... show more

Died within first hour of installation but later I realized it only works in the sun. It also gets clogged very easily and I have to bang on it to get it going again. The media could not be loaded. We are not using it as a fountain. We bought this water feature, but we had to run the pump 24 hrs. I tried timers etc. I found this little pump. For the size of the piece it works perfect. It is maybe 15 gallons. Only works in sunlight. No battery, but for our needs. Perfect. Feel free to reach out if you have questions. Solar panel must be junk. 25w rating is laughable. Must be 10% efficient at best. ANY slight deviation of face on direct sun virtually stops the pump. Not my first experience with Solar. UPDATE—Responsive customer service. Replaced original unit

I'm not extremely happy with mine. I was looking for a stronger solar pump than the one I had, previously using a 7-watt. This solar panel requires full direct sunlight in order for the pump to work, IE The entire solar panel needs to be covered in sunlight you can't have anything creating shade even for example one little leaf falls on the panel and you seem to lose 50% power. I have other solar pumps that don't have this problem, if a corner of the panel is covered they still work fine. For the price of this one and the size of its solar panel I expected something a little bit better. On the plus side you can disconnect the pump from the solar panel and can also add extensions to the power line if you need to. This was a plus for me. I'll probably end up keeping this one but I don't think I would purchase it again. It works fine but only on a very clear sunny day with absolutely zero clouds out. ... show more
