The ClearStream ECLIPSE™ amplified indoor HDTV antenna features new advanced performance to receive a greater range of frequencies for 50+ miles away from the towers. Grips to any smooth surface, such as a wall or window. Great for dorm rooms, RV's and over-the-road vehicles. You can reposition over and over again to find the best possible location to install your antenna for free TV from networks like ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, PBS, Univision, and more in full HD 1080 where available. The Jolt™ 15dB USB in-line amplifier system provides added range and maximum signal reception to ensure consistent performance for reliable picture quality and reception. Even better, when using the USB port on your TV, the amplifier will only draw power when the TV is turned on to eliminate power consumption. • Not all antennas are equal
No antenna picks up all signals from all directions. Each is designed for a very specific purpose and if you expect it to do something else you may be disappointed. Be aware that this, or a similar antenna, may not be enough to pick up all the stations you want. This antenna, and I believe this applies to all flat HDTV antennas, is NOT omnidirectional. Online reviews often list them as omnidirectional but the manufacturers are much more careful in their descriptions. The antenna should be placed on an outside wall facing the TV towers you wish to pick up. The direction does not need to be exact, but turning the antenna 90 degrees will impact reception. In my case it reduced the number of channels I could pick up. This style antenna is also designed for UHF reception. Most, but not all, HDTV stations are UHF. This antenna will pick up some VHF signals depending on their frequency and direction. When setting up my antenna, all the major networks but one were broadcast on UHF from the east of my home. The other was broadcast on VHF from the south. No orientation of this antenna would pick up every station. I contacted Antennas Direct customer service and they responded quickly and helped figure out a solution. I needed to add a VHF antenna to my setup, and together with this antenna, they work perfectly. Customer service was great! The web site tvfool.com can be used to show the location, frequency (UFH or VHF), and direction of channels at your address. Focus on the chart that lists the stations in descending order of signal strength to best understand what you will need from an antenna. ... show more

  • A winner - no doubt about it!!!
A winner!! all around. This antenna outperformed all others I have tried (Antop, Macron XG, etc.). I was about to give up cutting the cord when I decided to try the Eclipse, and if it did not work, well, just give up cord cutting. Was I amazed, folks! This antenna pulls signals way beyond the 50 mile range it advertises, and most of all, clearly and unbelievably consistent. No breaking up, no scrambling, I get the crystal clear 12 channels and their subs the FCC' web site indicates should be within my reception range, which I re-emphasize were not possible with the other antennas I tried. If you do get this antenna, place careful attention as to where you place it. I tried a window to start with, as it is suggested, however, I got a far better reception on a wall and away from the window, believe it or not - go figure. Oh, and, yes, I did hook up the amplifier. Highly recommended! Thanks ClearStream, you do have a winner as far as I am concerned!! ... show more

  • Amazing! Picks up ALL channels. Beats the Mohu in a landslide.
I decided to cut the chord and go with free OTA TV. (We really don't watch much live anyway, other than NFL games.) So, I tried out 3 indoor antennas, afraid I was going to have to install a roof-mounted antenna on my brand new roof. But because of this AMAZING antenna, my roof remains clear! I had a 10 year old RCA amplified unit I'd tried in the past that did nothing for me - it only picked up the local CBS and PBS stations that are a stone's throw away. I wanted to try it again to compare it to newer technology to see if it had improved significantly and see if an indoor would work. (I was skeptical. Then amazed.) I also tried a Mohu Leaf [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004QK7HI8/]. The old RCA did better now: it picked up CBS, PBS, NBC, and CW plus their subchannels. No ABC or FOX. This pretty much did the same on the first floor or on the second floor (where I used the house's internal coax wiring to create a direct connection to the TV). On the first floor, it didn't get NBC, though. The Mohu Leaf did better than that, but not great. On the first floor, it got CBS, PBS, CW, and NBC. No ABC or Fox. On the second floor, it picked up ABC solidly and got Fox, but only at night. During the day, it was very scattered or nonexistent. I wasn't impressed. Then I tried the ClearStream ECLIPSE. This baby was AMAZING!!! On the FIRST floor, it picked up: CBS, PBS, CW, NBC, ABC on 2 channels, and Fox - and this was without the amplification! With the amplification, it added in a couple other junk channels (shopping, some religious channel, etc.) and a second Fox channel. On the Second floor, it was mind-blowing: IT PICKED UP ALL 34 CHANNELS available in the area!!! Yes, CBS, PBS, CW, NBC, ABC (2 channel sets), and THREE Fox channel sets!!! Plus 2 analog channels, some shopping ones, and some religious ones. IT BLEW AWAY THE OTHERS. I was amazed, and in love. I checked the locations of some of these channels and they are scattered in multiple directions and some are even more than 50 miles away - up to nearly 80 miles! For people like me who don't live in a major city and need to get some distance, but don't really want a roof antenna - this baby SINGS! Give it a try and you'll likely be pleased (if not amazed) at the results. ... show more

  • Pictures are better than I get from Verizon FIOS
Works perfectly well for me in Waltham MA, I placed it on a second floor south facing wall and am Getting broadcast from Massachusetts and some from Rhode Island. Pictures are better than I get from Verizon FIOS. (Of course I don't, get strictly cable stations) Minor problem, I had trouble peeling off the wall side protective film from the adhesive strip, and I got the advice to stick some adhesive tape on it to get more purchase to lift it and it worked like a charm. I just wish this trick was printed on the instructions, would have saved me some aggravation. ... show more
