Description

The Antennas Direct ClearStream 4MAX indoor / outdoor HDTV antenna uses four of our patented loops to receive TV signals 70+ miles away from broadcast towers. Our MAX family of antennas offer the strongest performance in the most compact designs. With quick-connect parts, assembly only takes a few minutes. The included 20" mast has a pivoting base for installation on vertical or horizontal surfaces. Ideal for suburban and rural areas where heavy foliage or roofing materials between your antenna and the TV towers can interfere with reception. Dedicated UHF and Hi-VHF multi-directional elements offer reliable reception from the front and back of the antenna for more TV channels even if your broadcast towers are spread out. If you had cable or satellite installed before, the coaxial cable needed to distribute signal throughout your home may already be installed – simply connect the ClearStream 4MAX to the existing coaxial cable and you’ve got free local TV in crystal-clear HD straight from the networks. Find your TV channels and towers on our website or using our free Antenna Point app on android or iOS devices. Coaxial cable sold separately. • Wow - Remarkable indoor reception
Style: 60 Mile
I’ve bought a few of the indoor amplified antennas, $60 through $15 dollars all claiming to be the best. Don’t look any further this Antenna is worthy of the title best in class. Deployed in a closet and it’s outperformed every amplified window and bookshelf antenna I’ve ever purchased. Also comes assembled, bonus!! Great quality and does what it claims. ... show more

  • Great antenna
Style: 60 Mile
I live about 55 miles from my main TV towers. This antenna is on my window sill facing those towers. I get all the channels expected with no pixillation including one VHF that has been a problem for me.

  • A Terrific short to medium range antenna for UHF and VHF
Style: 60 Mile
I purchased this to replace my ANTOP AT500SBS indoor antenna. It's not surprising that it out performed the ANTOP when setup indoors in the same location as it's a larger antenna. However, when I installed it in my attic, the performance really jumped up. Much more so than when I tried the ANTOP in the attic. I'm about 27 miles from the majority of the TV transmitters, so that's not too far. Plus my attic is above a 2 story residence. Using a HDHomerun Flex 4 to measure the signal I was pleased to see that most of the ATSC 1.0 signals in the UHF range (~500MHz) now came in at or around 100% signal strength and 100% signal quality. Also when tuning to the VHF ATSC 3.0 channels the reception was 85% signal strength and 80% signal quality. This was a doubling of ATSC 3.0 signal quality over the ANTOP. I can now watch ATSC 3.0 without any intermittent breakup. The build quality of the antenna was very good. Very little flex in the elements. The 2 VHF elements swing down and out of the way. This makes it easy to maneuver in tight attic spaces. I used the included J-bar and steel mount to attach it to an attic joist. I found this antenna after watching "The AntennaMan" on YT. I highly recommend you check his YT channel out if you're trying to decide on which antenna you should choose for your particular location. ... show more

  • Good antenna, but there are better for the same money
Style: 70 Mile
This is a really cool design. Easy to assemble, compact, easy to look at. The performance is good but for the money. The Televes 148883 is about the same price, includes a self balancing preamp and 5G filter built in, and just pulls in way better signal.

  • First one I've found that works even in the flight path
Style: 60 Mile
We live about 20 minutes from a major airport, and we're in the flight path. We also live on a busy alley. We cannot put an antenna on our roof, and with the design of our house, the attic doesn't work either. We've tried several antennas. When airplanes fly overhead or cars drive by, the picture gets very pixelated and sometimes goes away altogether. It's been frustrating. I googled a lot to try to find one that isn't affected by these things but had no luck. I looked at this one because 1) it's an entirely different shape, 2) it gets great reviews, and 3) it has free returns. Given our experience with the other antennas, I wasn't expecting much, so free returns were important. We don't have great options for where to set antennas. I know height is important but we don't have a way to make it higher. It is currently near a window but on the floor by the TV. First impression was this was nice quality! And very easy to put together. (Note: it doesn't come with coaxial cable, but I had one on hand.) When we first tuned it, we got an extra five channels. (Update: we re-tuned it and now have 13 extra channels!) That surprised me, because we already get a lot of channels. It wasn't that important to me to have more channels, but it's still nice. The picture is also clearer, which also surprised me because I was happy with the quality of the picture using other antennas. The best part though is it works even with interference! We can watch tv with cars driving by and planes flying overhead. Occasionally we will get a few pixels from low flying planes, but nothing that disturbs our viewing. After trying several other antennas, I never expected to find one that actually works for our situation! I am very delighted and highly, highly recommend this. ... show more

  • Not For My Application
Style: 60 Mile
I know these are popular and work well for a lot of people, it just didn’t work for me in my application. First off the build quality is very good with the exception of the VHF Dipoles. They use U shaped brackets and a screw to secure them to the antenna body and I just never liked the way the screws felt when tightening and loosening them. A stud fixed to the body of the antenna in conjunction with a bracket and wing nut would have been better in my opinion. However, once they are locked into their horizontal spots they are not loose and do not move. I put this on my existing Dish Network J-Pole that is lagged into the header board on the back corner of my house. I was able to turn it in all directions if needed for adjustment. In the picture included you’ll see my existing antenna, it is the Philips Rabbit Ears Antenna (SDV8201B/27). I have it folded up and sitting on the top window pane in a living room window at the front of the house. This goes directly into a two way splitter, one of those goes into the living room tv right there with a 4’ piece of RG-6. The other one is connected to the previously used RG-6 cable run used for the Dish Hopper, this penetrates the outside of the house in our coat closest, runs along the side of the house around the corner and all the way to the back of the main bedroom portion of the house. Probably about 45 feet of RG-6. This used to go into the “Single Node” where the Dish Network Satellite feed came into along with the two Joeys we had. I replaced that Single Node with an identical two way splitter that I used inside the house. So the 45 foot RG-6 coming from the splitter inside the house is now the input into the two way splitter I installed in place of the Single Node, both of those outputs on the splitter feed the other two bedrooms. All three rooms have identical tv’s, 65” in the living room and 55” TV’s in each bedroom, all are Hisense UK7. With this setup and the Philips indoor antenna my Nextgen tv signal for the locals is 46. With the ClearStream 2MAX I was using an Extreme Broadband balanced three way splitter to feed all three TV’s and that dropped total signal to the living room tv to 19. This is actually fine for those Nextgen ATSC 3.0 CHANNELS as they don’t require as strong of a signal as the ATSC 1.0 CHANNELS do. The problem is everything else, the sub-channels for Fox which are VHF never did come in reliably and I had issues maintaining enough signal on UHF 20, 50 and the Nextgen stations at the same time. The ClearStream install adds about 50 feet of RG-6 to the equation (The distance to the J-Mount) and the aforementioned 3 way splitter. Of course in the Philips indoor Antenna installed we have 2-2-way splitters. So I’m not sure if the additional RG-6 is the cause of the issue or not, but either way I did not want to install a pre-amp so that limits my options. I ended up putting it back the way it was and all the channels are back with a strong, watchable signal. I’m not trying to steer anyone away from this Antenna, I think it is a quality item, it just didn’t work in my particular application. ... show more
