  • Seems to be very accurate
Style: 682 Backlit Color Screen
Used on several projects lately and it has worked perfectly. Easy to read and automatic mode selection.

  • The best multimeter I have owned in 50 years
Style: 621A Backlit Color Touch Screen
This meter is amazing and inexpensive. Some analog meters blow fuses when the dial is set incorrectly and eat batteries. The autoranging works perfectly. It comes with important cables such as one with alligator clips so you can clip it to whatever you are testing. It comes with a nice zippered case. The battery lasts forever on a charge. The display is bright and can be read in sunlight. I turns off automatically after 15 mins, so it does not kill the battery if I forget. The audio alert is loud enough to be heard with an engine running. This is FAR better than meters with manual dials (and LCDs lacking lighted displays). On those, if you hook it up to voltage when checking resistance you blow a fuse and have to take it apart. I can work on stuff in the dark. It has everything I need to trace out wiring and do debug in my RV if something something breaks. The battery lasts for many months without recharging. NOTE: TO RECHARGE IT, UNPLUG TEST CABLES AND REMOVE THE RED RUBBER PROTECTIVE CASE TO ACCESS THE USB-C CONNTECTOR. ... show more

  • Lead broke less than a year.
Style: 682 Backlit Color Screen
After about 7 months, the red lead had an issue of being disconnected under the insulation. Had to be replaced. Product works great otherwise.

  • Impossible to read outdoors
Style: 621A Backlit Color Touch Screen
It’s not a terrible tester but useless outdoors in sunlight really. The screen just doesn’t have the brightness for use outdoors. I have to hold my hand over it and almost cuff my face to read it which makes it basically useless for automotive repair completely. The beeping noises are annoying. As far as testing goes it appears to be fairly accurate. That said it works okay indoors if that is your main use. It can be hard to tell if it’s in the right mode and auto mode can decide you are checking continuity if you are checking low voltage circuits which is annoying really. I suppose I wasn’t expecting auto mode to work well anyway. I really prefer to have a dial to select the mode I’m using just to be sure it’s on the right setting and all that. The whole smart thing is just not helpful compared to a fluke meter and the standard that’s been around for years. Of course this is much less than a true rms fluke any day so you can’t expect the same experience. I’d just say to buy a better one like a fluke if you have the means to do so, there will be way less headaches with a quality product like those. ... show more

  • Just rocks!
Style: 682 Backlit Color Screen
A lot of people have told me to avoid automatic testers, because you could never switch to the correct testing unit, and even if you could it would not be so accurate because of ‘blah, blah…’ This thing is very accurate, you can choose what ever testing field you want or need, so, buy it, people clearly have bought one faulty test kit and generated the conclusion that every auto multimeter is as faulty. People test your products, see if it’s you, the manufacturer, the product, research, and stop saying this nonsense. My multimeter matched the three other multimeters to the very decimal. Before you ask, I wanted a multimeter that was more vibrant, my eyes aren’t as great as they used to be, the black over a grey screen background is kind of difficult for me to see, especially since most of the lights I’m dealing with are lamp lights, and those are not as bright as ceiling lights. ... show more

  • Not great for more than very basic use
Style: 681 Backlit Screen
I suspect that someone who just needs to check if a battery is dead would like this meter, it looks fancy, auto-ranging, auto-detect and has many features, and the combination adds up to something that is difficult to use if you know what you're doing. - Auto detect- if I'm following the instructions if it reads more than .8V it decides that it's measuring voltage, and it checks to see if there is a stronger AC or DC current and reports on that. I couldn't figure out any way to get it to show me AC, DC, resistance... if that is not what it chooses to show you. I was trying to go through a shop manual diagnostic for a vehicle and ran into an instance where it wanted you to check the voltage across 2 pins of a relay socket and this meter reported resistance no matter what I tried. I even "resorted" to reading the instructions with no luck. - Auto-ranging- the Auto-ranging (exacerbated by the auto-detect) is sssllllooooowwww. I during the same diagnostic procedure I found that I couldn't get accurate values for some of the tests because it took it too long to figure out what it was going to show on the screen. At first, I though I wasn't seeing what I was expecting to see because the meter was still trying to determine what to display, but I found even if I connected the probes and waited that didn't always work, and if you move the probe slightly it took longer, and then I was trying to test a fuel pump relay that was sent a "prime" signal from the engine control module for a few seconds and then shut off. By the time it got to displaying the voltage the prime signal was gone and I didn't see it. - All the probes/adapters- I was excited about this, it seems like you always need some different ways to connect to things, and I always end up buying add-ons that I keep with each meter. Well, not so great. The "stock" probes are very, I mean VERY fine and sharp. I wouldn't be surprised if even meticulous tool users eventually bend them and in the meantime skewer themselves with them multiple times. Normal tips are included, but to put them on you have to unscrew the sharp ones and screw the others on which makes them super long, longer than the included case, so if you're going to store them in the case you have to remove them to store them every time. Not very useful. the other add-ons/probes, things like alligator clips, and other things are attached the same way, one that is cumbersome and time-consuming. Unless you leave this out on a bench all the time set up the way that you use it mostly you'll be frustrated. - This is minor but it came out if it's sealed packaging with the whole screen scratched, not badly, it just looked like someone whipped it with a cloth that had some grit in it - The compact body + and bottom terminals make for something that has to lay flat, you can't prop it up if you're using it on a table and it doesn't have a stand like many meters do anyway. What's good, I mean I did give it 2 stars- - it's compact, the modern look and form factor make it look impressive - rechargeable and an indicator is nice, I've been burned before by a meter that had a near dead battery and no indication that was acting weird/giving inaccurate values, and then most you have to unscrew the back to replace the battery which can be a headache - The backlight and the flashlight are nice features, but it's weird that you have to turn on both at once (I suspect that they both use the same LED. - It comes with a nice case, a hard case with a strap to hold the meter and a mesh pocket for the accessories. I do wonder if it might be a little too compact for regular use without having to pull everything out every time you want to use it. ... show more
