I did massive amounts of research and shopping before buying this particular bike, and I'll start by saying this brand is far and away the best value in its price range if that's what your after. My wife has a 350w class 1 huffy, and this feels SO MUCH more powerful, the throttle only mode is awesome, I love it. It's everything I wanted at a price point that made it pretty easily obtainable. 4 stars only because, as others have said, the seat definitely leaves something to be desired. I've only ridden for about 5 miles and the seat is just not comfortable and somewhat painful lol. And I'm a normal size guy, 5"11, 170lbs, so it's not like I've got a whole lot of butt to support. All in all, however, an excellent e-bike, especially at the price point, and I am very satisfied with my purchase. Assembly was quick and easy, the controls are intuitive, and its just fun as hell to ride! Edit 11/5: Changed to 5 stars. My front brake caliper disintegrated at some point, I didn't realize that it had happened until I went to adjust my front brakes because they hadn't been working and the back half of it had left the chat. I emailed them about this and they provided me another disc and caliper free of charge and pretty quickly, I'm very happy with that experience. But I changed my review because as others have said, during this exchange I also brought up the discomfort of the seat and they provided me with 20 dollars for a replacement. Solid, solid customer service. ESPECIALLY for a Chinese company servicing the u.s., I don't mean that in the wrong ways, it's just so easy for them to shtup us after we've completed a purchase and it's happened quite a bit in my own experiences so I really want to highlight and commend the customer service team here, they're doing great work! All of that being said, after a few months of my wife and I both owning this same bike now, I stand by my initial assessment. They are overall very high quality, durable, easy to use, fun to use, simple to assemble, I really can't think of a single negative thing to say about these bikes or the company that makes them. If your still for whatever reason on the fence about this bike or I'd even venture to say any of this company's products, it is definitely the one to get. ... show more

    • Great bike. Not what I expected, better than I expected.

Ok, so, this is a bicycle (shocker, I know. Hear me out). This is _not_ a scooter or a motorcycle, it's a bike. You pedal it. It's got electric assist, but you still do the work. The thing about bikes is they're great on flat ground. everybody likes flat ground. It's easy, you pedal and you go. You don't really need assist. The thing nobody likes is hills, you come to a hill and you have to work harder to get up hill. It's almost harder than walking. But the assist kicks in here. It doesn't take over, it just adds a bit to your oomph. So riding is like always being on flat ground, you spend the same amount of effort going forward, you come to a hill and you don't pedal any harder (or any less) and it's the same. It's great! I've quit exercise before because it was too hard (we all have) and this just helps out when it needs to. At the end of a ride you're still tired, you did hard work, but it wasn't overwhelming and it didn't destroy your knees. The battery is great, the info-screen is great, the speedometer is great, it's got a trip odo so you can measure each ride. The LED light works great for riding at dusk as it illuminates a fair swath of road. You _do_ have to plug it in as others have said. The shifters are shimano and pretty intuitive, all new bikes need some tensioning in to get rid of the clicks and clacks and whirrs. The brakes are disc brakes and work well with minimal noise. The seat I thought I would be upgrading right away but it's not a bad seat, your bum may be different but it's a standard seat mount so if you've swapped a bike seat before you'll be fine. All bikes are projects so you may upgrade seat, grips, reflectors, &c The battery locks in place with a key, don't lose the key it's not a generic key. The charging system is pretty simple, you plug on end in. The battery and frame take up a bit of space so if you like in frame bags you may want to measure. There's not a lot of room for a second water bottle. Customer service was quick and responsive with shipping questions and issues. Much appreciation to them. ... show more
