  • 125 miles and all is well!
I’ve had the bike for about a month now & have racked up 125 miles. I’ve added a rear carrier, storage bag, handlebar case for cell phone & speedometer. If you are considering this bike, my advice is to watch as many YouTube videos you can find. Read all the reviews here, and if it sounds like a good fit for you, go for it. I sure have no regrets. Word of advice: I’m just over 5’ 8” with a 29” inseam. I just barely fit this bike, especially with the rear rack on it. It is not for short people. Also, if you are technically challenged, you may want to consider going for the extra charge of have the bike assembled and set up for you. I was riding less than an hour of receiving the bike, but I did have to tweak the brakes and the Shimano gears. No big deal, but if this is outside your skill set, you might want to spend the extra bucks. 750 mile update. Still loving the bike. Only issue has been flat tires. Too much riding on suburban bikes lanes in lieu of dedicated bike trails. After my 5th flat, I upgraded tubes and tires and added tire liners. No flats since. I’ve become pretty expert at managing battery life/range. I’ve only run out of juice twice. Once at mile 23 of a 25 mile ride. Made it back to my car fine w/o electric assistance. At home I discovered tires were at 40 PSI. They really need to be 60-65 to get the most out of the bike. The other time I was experimenting with using that max electric support. Really increased my average speed until the battery cut out around mile 18. Typically I ride 18 - 20 miles with power to spare. Longest ride to date was 28 miles, again with power to spare. If you make a habit of coasting whenever possible and rarely, if ever, relying 100% on electric support, you can cover 28-30 miles or better. It’s smart to pay attention to the lights. You’ll find that it doesn’t take long before you drop from 5 lights to 4. Takes a while to reach 3, and quite often lights four or even 5 will come back on if you peddle harder or hit a stretch where you can coast. Once you are down to 2 lights and light 3 no longer returns when coasting, you don’t have much battery left. Down to 1 light and your destination better be in sight! Your mileage will vary based on terrain, weather and how much effort you put into cycling. After 700 miles, I’m in pretty good shape, but I’m still 71 years old. That electric boost going uphill is very much appreciated. Bottom line: the bike is a bargain. Looks great and rides even better. Zero regrets on my part! ... show more

  • The Ancher 500 is exactly the buke I was looking for
Style: 26''-500w-12.5ah
My only criticism is the instructions, or lack of instructions. Assembly is fairly simple unless all you have is the owner's manual that comes with the bike. This is completely inadequate for the job. The on-line installation videos, on the other hand are very good and I used these to assemble the bike. I haven't found anything that covers actually using the bike. Things like adjusting the saddle and handlebar height to fit the rider, and how the bike's mechanical controls work. They seem to assume that everyone knows how the shifters work and what conditions will require what level of peddle assist. ... show more

  • Great bicycle for the money.
Style: 26''-500w-12.5ah
The instructions were a little vague. Assembling the bike wasn't that difficult but the direction included some of the things that were already assembled. The derailer protecter was bent during transit and needed to be bent back out for the derailer to operate. Once assembled we and everything was adjusted I was more than impressed. In the pedal assist position it's like your being pushed down the road. It has a throttle only which is nice for those who are interested in transportation only. Not sure yet how many miles on a charge you will get with throttle only. Maybe 15 to 20. Good tread on the tires.. There are two keys with the bike. Like a dummy I was trying to turn the bike on with the keys. The keys are simply for locking the battery to prevent theft. Lol. It's necessary to hold the power button for two or three seconds to power up. To go throttle only simply hit the minus button. One last thing. The bike comes with a front light and a horn which is nice. The front light is fair to good but there is no back light. I'm very safety minded as I ride. I suggest to add at least a rear light and possibly a good quality front light mounted on the handle bars. I bought this for my daughter but may get one down the road for myself. I rate it 4.5 overall. ... show more

  • Great Bike
Style: 26''-500w-12.5ah
We ordered two bikes, one for me and husband. Shipping was fast (less than one week). Easy to assemble. Make sure you watch the video on Amazon. Easy to ride. The seat adjusts to fit me 5' 5" and husband 5' 10". Was really impressed with the paint job and the quality of the bike. This bike is really made good and is sturdy when riding it. My husband and I are very happy with our purchase. Great bike especially for the price. We've only rode it a few times but so far so good. At this point I would highly recommend it. Quality bike especially for the price (under $1000). 5 stars and thumbs up! ... show more

  • Ancheer is a very good...Brand
Style: 26''-500w-12.5ah
After intense research, & being a regular dude, I watched videos about the best E bikes & other like subjects & Ancheers name always came up on a list of Best E bikes under $1000. I had budgeted $2 thousand for my first E bike, but then quickly realized I don't have to spend that much money. So I took the plunge and bought the 500 watt/36volt Ancheer Mountain Bike. The bike arrived early & all I had to do is mount the handle bars & put the front tire on... anyone can do it (theres videos). I charged the battery & the next day took it out for a ride. I was hooked at once, it's as if someone is pushing you from behind when you have the pedal assist on, goes up steep hills fairly easy, doesn't hurt my knees grinding up hills. I get at least 3 days of riding about 10 miles a ride on a full charge. I did have a flat tire my 3rd week, I have read that before in reviews, but their balloon tires and I had it changed at a bike shop, no problems since. I believe in the Ancheer brand and am currently awaiting an Ancheer folding bike, 500 watts of course (don't get anything lower, just get the 500 watt). ... show more
