With my first pregnancy i took a plant based prenatal and i felt HORRIBLE! I was throwing up, nauseous, moody, no energy, and my ankles swelled CONSTANTLY! This pregnancy I am taking these instead and I am SHOCKED. Zero symptoms. No nausea. No moodiness. Good energy. Good sleep. No swollen cankles! Not even once!! The two pregnancies are night and DAY. I want to start off by thanking Brian, the owner of this company, for doing what he’s doing and creating such a stand-up company. I've recently been called to the ancestral lifestyle in an effort to heal my body through a more primal mindset, which is what led me to the Ancestral Supplements product line and website. The efforts he has made to educate the masses and support the individual have been deeply moving and inspiring. Not only is the website an open book and a wellspring of knowledge but the time and care Brian takes to connect with you if you seek out his correspondence speaks volumes, not only about his business ethic but also about his sense of humanity. This is a company intimately in touch with its mission and its community and I am proud to stand behind it. I don't know if my story will prove to be interesting or useful to you at all but I'll go ahead anyway. My partner and I have recently embarked on a healing journey and rigorous nutritive regimen to heal our gut linings and remediate some internal dysbioses. We also hope to address an injured knee and support regeneration as we approach ACL reconstruction surgery. After over 5 years of being strictly vegan, we've undergone some philosophical shifts and have humbly come to understand that we are all animals and we all rely on each other for various needs. All animals require the lives of other organisms in order to support the continuation of their own. Even the very soil beneath us, which supports all life, requires death—blood and bone—to generate life anew. Honoring the life of an animal and transmuting every aspect (nose to tail) of its vitality and energy into our organism is really no different than ending the life cycle of a plant for our energy requirements, it just looks different. While for years I’ve always turned to plants for medicine (with good reason), I had been setting myself up for major disadvantages and nutrient deficiencies by rejecting the wisdom of my ancestors in favor of a new, biologically inappropriate, albeit well-intentioned social experiment called “veganism.” Meanwhile, there are thousands upon thousands of years of experience and countless human cultures that have acknowledged the nutritive and healing potential integrated within the bodies, tissues, organs, and bones of our animal brethren. It cannot he ignored any longer. As a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, I’m no stranger to healing. However, I must confess that I wasn’t doing myself (or those that I’ve mentored) any favors by depriving the human organism of the crucial fat-soluble vitamins, essential fatty acids, B-complex vitamins, and vital amino acids that are most abundant and assimilable in healthy, naturally-raised animal foods. We ARE animals after all and every species needs to eat a biologically appropriate diet in a sustainable manner in order to thrive. As my partner and I approach this next step of our journey, we have decided to go back to our roots and heal our bodies the primal way by incorporating traditional foods like bone broth, ghee, pastured butter, fermented foods, raw/cultured dairy, pastured eggs, meats, organs, and a plethora of medicinal plants and minerals. We intend to do so with utmost gratitude and reverence to the animals whose lives (and the intentional care put into nourishing them) will in turn nourish us. These foods have proven to be indispensable for the healing of leaky gut and the mending of body tissues. However, access to a lot of these, especially organ meats, can be tricky and overwhelming (especially for recovering vegans). Enter Ancestral Supplements, who can provide you an ounce-worth of pasture-raised, grass-fed & grass-finished New Zealand bovine organ, cartilage, and/or bone marrow in a serving size of six capsules. Brian will recommend that you start slow, however, and work up to the full dosage over time because if you’re not used to such concentrated doses of nutrition all at once, you may experience various detox reactions as your body regulates and adjusts. This is not to scare you though, by starting with just one capsule and working up slowly you shouldn’t experience too many issues. I’m currently at six capsules per day of beef liver—natures most perfect and complete multivitamin—and will be incorporating the bone marrow soon for extra gut tissue support. My partner will soon be on a regimen of bone marrow and tracheal cartilage as he approaches ACL surgery to prepare his body beforehand and to help him fortify his rebuilt cruciate ligaments and cartilage. This summer, we will be moving out of the city and into the country to help start a sustainable homestead and I hope to be able to incorporate these nutrients and organ meats into my diet more organically and directly from the source, but in the meantime, I’m extremely grateful to have access to such a pristine source of nutrients provided by such a standup company like Ancestral Supplements. I would so much rather spend my money supporting efforts like Brian’s and, in turn, get REAL food nutrients versus isolated and synthetic lab-grown vitamins which are neither sustainable nor absorbable. I realize that Brian and his team can't manufacture any health claims, give advice on anything to do with "healing," "regeneration," or "medicine” but that doesn't mean I can't. I’m VERY particular with what I put on and in my body and after an exhaustive examination of the options I decided to go with Ancestral Supplements as a support system for this new lifestyle and healing regimen. I’m already starting to feel the results and I expect nothing but increased vitality moving forward. I never write reviews like this (especially not in this amount of detail) and I’m in no way being compensated to write it, but I was so moved by Brian’s work, the quality of his products, and his investment in his customers’ wellbeing that I decided I would offer my endorsement to whoever will listen.
