    • Fixes the controller design flaw perfectly

The accessory is simply a battery cover replacement with a soft leather strap that goes around the backside of your palm when you’re holding the controller. The plastic cover has a slightly emboss hexagonal pattern that gives it a nice touch, but since it only covers a portion of the controller, its minimal design lets it fit the controller’s overall look. I would have preferred the straps to have a matching color but the supple, soft leather made it a good trade-off. As for the battery cover, it does allow you to replace the battery (although you will need a paper clip or similar tool which you didn’t with the original cover), but the main reason why it’s there is because it locks the cover in place so it won’t slide off while playing. The downside of that is you have to take off the battery cover before taking the strap cover off (as they also specify in the manual that you need to take the battery cover of this accessory off before putting it on the controller). One final note, the manual is great, near perfect English with no typos. So rare to see for anything that you get from Amazon. Pro: Design is minimal, doesn’t change the feel of the controller Battery cover serves as lock and a battery replacement window Leather is supple soft Cons: Attempting to remove the strap cover without removing the strap battery cover might damage the battery cover as it also serves as a locking mechanism Leather color doesn’t match controller color (the buttons area is black, but is not as noticeable) Strap should have L/R printed on it, not just on the cover (still better than the removable sticker that comes with the controller cover) ... show more

Whenever a friend or colleague gets a new Oculus headset, I give them a list of must-have accessories which include AMVR Touch Controller Grip Covers. I consider these a must because a knuckles-style grip is ideal for so many games and experiences that require throwing or opening one's hands. AMVR's Controller Grip Covers have been my go-to solution for both Quest and Quest 2 and they work well. But they're not without a couple downsides. They're too bulky to fit in the Quest 2 case, the rubberized straps wear over time, and they need to be removed anytime the battery needs changing. With these new Hand Grip Straps for Oculus Quest 2 AMVR solves these problems and more. Unlike the Touch Controller Grip Covers, the new Hand Grip Straps do not slip over the bottom of your controller. Instead, the Hand Grip Straps use a plastic cover that replaces the Quest controller's stock battery cover. This cover has attachment points for a leather and velcro strap and fits the Quest controller perfectly. The cover has a secure, removable door allowing easy access to the battery when the need arises. The materials are high quality with excellent fit and finish. With these grips installed, the controllers are just as slim as stock with a clean, minimal design that could have come straight from Oculus. They feel great in the hand and best of all, fit perfectly in the stock Quest 2 Battery Strap Case. How are they in actual use? In a word - fantastic! The leather straps are far more secure than the rubberized elastic straps of the previous model and the grip feels far more natural. One of the issues I had with the previous grips is that they felt like my hand was always riding a bit too high on the controller, no matter how I adjusted them. These feel just right. The straps themselves are durable and I expect them to last much longer than the previous rubberized elastic straps. Finally, the biggest pain point of the previous grips was battery changing. This is now completely solved. Bottom line - These are the grips you want. If you're new to Quest 2, put them at the top of your accessory list. These are super slim, super light weight and extremely comfortable. They also look pretty cool and seem very durable. I had purchased another popular brand which starts with the "K" but their version is heavy and bulky and very uncomfortable. This product on the other hand looks and feels like an OEM part. If anything I believe my controllers got lighter now. I only wish they would sell an all white version to match the headset better These were absolutely easy to install as well. In fact it was harder to remove my previous cover than it was to install these ones. Another plus is that this product does not interfere with the Oculus Quest 2 tracking mechanism at all. I have big hands. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it hurts. In this case, the straps allow it to fit over my hands, very tightly. It's not comfortable. They are adjustable, but they aren't designed to become as loose as I need them. If I could get another half an inch of length out of the strap, I'd be good. I'll probably try to ghetto rig it into function. Previously, I was using the Kiwi controller grips, and if I can't figure out how to make the strap work for me, then I'll go back to those. These should be pretty good for people with medium to small hands. ... show more

Another AMVR gem! I love how with these new redesigned grips, they feel just like you’re holding OEM controllers. No additional bulk and the materials they use feel great. The added battery cover for easy battery access is a real bonus. I never want to put the controllers down.

I have tried other grips from other companies for both the Quest 2 and Rift S, but these are the best I have run across. The knuckle straps are placed in just the right spot to angle across your hand very comfortably. The battery access port is a genius idea. There is no need to remove the grip to change the battery.
