This chenille throw blanket from Amelie Home reminds me of a big, soft, knitted, luxurious cable knit sweater. It is so beautifully designed and put together. I am in the process of replacing all of my lap/throw blankets in my house and putting soft, plush, cuddly, and colorful ones in their place and using a variety of soft and comfy fabrics, instead of the stiff, cotton ones that were popular years ago. The colors were pretty but there wasn't much appealing about wrapping yourself up in one to keep the chill away or to cover up for a quick nap. This blanket is just the opposite, it is warm and soft to the touch, but does not cause you to get too warm or overheated. It is not too heavy and has different knit patterns consisting of larger and looser stitches, and smaller and tighter stitches. The chenille fabric is medium weight and stitched and finished perfectly with no loose ends or snagging. It drapes over you, your chair, your bed or sofa so beautifully. This blanket is so versatile and could make a stunning accent to any room. I love the feel of it and it looks beautiful in my media room. It is so nice to cuddle up underneath. We use these year round, either to keep warmer during the winter or to keep the AC chill off during the warmer months, and I always like to have enough of these smaller blankets on hand for all of my family and friends to use when they visit. It's so much fun seeing all of us cuddled up in them watching movies together, etc. I do have a lot of company and all of my guests just love being able to wrap themselves up in one of these lovely, cozy throw blankets. Everyone has a different temperature tolerance, and these are perfect to balance it all out. I have not laundered it yet, but the instructions are very straightforward and simple, and I'm sure it will turn out beautifully when I do. ... show more

My daughter really loves this blanket! The chenille yarn used to make it is amazingly soft and flexible. It acts perfectly as a warm blanket on her bed and has lots of character, thanks to its unique checkered pattern and mix of stitches. The cream color is also a very pleasant and neutral color that goes with everything. She is also pleasantly surprised at its ability to regulate heat as we live in a generally warm place and yet she didn’t feel like she was overheating while sleeping. The smaller size throw that I got is a bit too small for her to be covered at all times. She really does like mostly everything about this throw blanket, but she noticed that there are loose ends that could possibly become undone. It’s a good thing that she knows how to crochet so she can fix any spots, if needed. It’s also nice that this blanket is machine washable in cold water and can be thrown into the dryer on low heat to fluff it up again to its original fluff and softness. My wife loves this cozy blanket as well, so I may just have to get a second one for her. She also mentioned that she appreciates that Amelie Home throw blanket has a Climate Pledge Friendly label by Amazon, and is Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX certified, which means that OEKO-TEX “requires every component of a textile’s product—including all thread, buttons, and trims—to be tested against a list of more than 1,000 harmful regulated and unregulated chemicals which may be harmful to human health. When I came across this listing, I decided to try out this throw. I had never heard of Amélie Home but I am one who will buy any throw or blanket that looks cuddly, snuggly wonderful - I am a fanatic of throws/blankets. When this arrived and I opened it I just started gushing, it is soooo soft to the touch and reminds me of my favorite cable knit sweater I had a long time ago. I couldn’t wait to try it out but then….. I remembered my dogs and their own love of blankets (as well as their tendency to pull apart anything like this due to their nails) and why I buy a lot of throws/blankets. I have a reading/mediation nook where the dogs aren’t allowed so this is the where I will use this beautiful throw. It goes perfectly with the chair and adds softness to this spot. I have already tried it out and love that I can be wrapped in this blanket and not get overly heated and hot. I sprayed some lavender on it and it instantly lifted my spirits. This is an amazing throw/blanket. This throw seems very well made with quality material and if I can keep it away from the dogs it will last a long time. I like the different types of stitching used, really adds to the elegance of the design. I always like to ask myself “would I pay full price for this item” when reviewing so that I can give my review added value. I can say YES I would pay full price (which at the time of this review was $42.99) for this blanket/throw. I will even be buying another for gifting as it arrives so beautifully packaged and I know so many of my loved ones will appreciate this as much as I do. ... show more
