  • Exceptional Performance and Value for Gamers and Creators
Style: Wraith Stealth Cooler
The AMD Ryzen 5 3600 is hands down one of the best processors for its price range. With 6 cores and 12 threads, it handles everything I throw at it with ease, from gaming to productivity tasks like video editing and 3D rendering. The Zen 2 architecture provides excellent performance per watt, and I’ve noticed significant improvements in both speed and efficiency compared to my older CPU. Even under load, the included Wraith Stealth cooler does a good job of keeping temperatures in check, and it runs relatively quietly, though you could always upgrade to a more robust cooler if you're planning to overclock. Speaking of overclocking, the unlocked multiplier makes it easy to squeeze out extra performance if needed, though it performs impressively well at stock speeds. The Ryzen 5 3600 also shines in gaming, with excellent single-core performance, ensuring smooth frame rates even in demanding titles. It’s also future-proofed with AM4 socket compatibility, so you can pair it with a wide range of motherboards. Overall, this processor is a fantastic value for both gaming and multitasking, making it a go-to choice for anyone building a mid-range PC. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Does the dang job, man.
Style: Wraith Spire Cooler
3600 remains the GOAT for budget builds. For how old this thing is, it's an absolute workhorse. Pairs really well with my RX 6600 and I've had 0 issues with stuttering so far.

  • Insane value

I got this cpu for the pc I took to college and it has an insane price to performance. The desktop is super snappy and it doesnt bottleneck my gpu at all during gaming. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a budget am4 socket.

  • Good CPU at a decent price
Style: Wraith Stealth Cooler
Because Amazon likes combining reviews for different products: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core, 12-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor with Wraith Stealth Cooler (I'll stop doing this when Amazon stops combining reviews for unrelated products) Disclaimer: I am NOT a PC gamer. I did not get this CPU for gaming, so I don't bother with overclocking. I bought it because I needed a CPU for my new motherboard and the price was good. Installation was easy. The CPU slotted easily into the MB. The fan required a bit more effort than I expected, but I was able to work out just how much pressure to put on the screws to get them to engage with the MB. Not much to say about performance, because I'm not a gamer. My previous CPU was an AMD A4-5300 APU, which was really starting to struggle with most applications, though adding a separate graphics card helped with that somewhat. Basically, the CPU load ran at about 50-70% most of the time. With this Ryzen, I haven't yet seen CPU usage go above single digits -- and that's without overclocking. Copy/pasted from my MB review, because it's relevant: I had some problems initially, with the USB drivers. Basically, I can do everything I did before, but smoother and/or faster. There's not much I can say other than it works, and in most cases, works better than my old system. Now for the driver problems. I can't say how Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 handle the drivers. I run Windows 7 Professional. The hard part is getting the chipset drivers, because the newer Ryzen processors don't support Windows 7. They DO exist, but AMD and Asus make it hard to get them. You will also need a ps/2 mouse or keyboard, because Windows 7 does not natively support USB 3.x. You need amd_chipset_software_2.04.28.626.exe -- run the installer to get most of the missing drivers, then point Device Manager to C:\AMD\Chipset_Driver_Installer\AMD_Chipset_Drivers to get the remaining USB Host Controller driver. Once you've got the chipset drivers installed, you'll be able to go back to your USB mouse and keyboard. TL;DR: Easy to install, though installing the fan requires some elbow grease.. Works fine, even for non-gamers. Easy to set up, even for Windows 7 users (as long as you have the chipset drivers). ... show more

  • Great chip

I use these to upgrade people's aging pc's, price is great and performance still holds up, much more than the price would indicate!
