I already owned a full set of $50 per piece cast iron cookware. I've hand picked and collected piece by piece over the years. This set had all but one piece (the flat 2 burner grill) and was less than 2 pieces of mine on a cyber deal before Christmas.     • Pans are rough not seasoned, I still half to sand & season before I can use them.
Amazon did issue credit but Pam's are not seasoned or sanded so I will be doing that. Buyer beware.

I love being able to cook in cast iron. Foods are consistently cooked without sticking when you initially prep the pans correctly. A very durable product.

The cooking surface isn't as smooth as I would like but that's just a minor complaint. I have a very awful electric stove so having pans with better heat control, versus a nonstick or thin steel pan, is very much appreciated. Read the instructions. If you don't take care of cast iron you will regret it, and preventing corrosion can be tricky if you don't stay on top of it. It is untreated cast iron, take care of it. ... show more

These work great and my wife and I both love them. Cast iron is different than many other types of kitchen cookware e.g.: it's heavier, it's harder to clean, and it requires special handling. On the flip side, the taste is amazing and it feels nice to have a reliable nonstick pan without risk of chemicals. Highly, highly recommend you get a chainmail cleaner. They're relatively inexpensive but invaluable in cleaning these pans without requiring weakly seasonings to keep the nonstick. ... show more
