Very happy with this suitcase so far, especially for the price. Similar sized products from other makers were $40+ and of the same quality. The caster wheels operate smoothly as does the telescoping handle. The suitcase has a good capacity for a week long trip and so far the durability seems good.

Great to have for traveling. Fits the dimensions of most carriers. Seems to be scratch resistant but like anything over time it will wear as expected. Looks good and the color matches the pictures. Lock functions well, wheels move without issues and seem stable, and holds the volume described.

Overall construction is cheap, but effective. There’s a flaw with the shoe compartment zipper. It was installed upside down, with the slider facing inside the compartment and the pull tab was missing. See photos. I returned the first delivery opting for a new one. The new one also had the same construction flaw. Amazon probably knows this, which is the reason it’s so cheap. Amazon should own up to it and publish the flaw in the product description. ... show more

Good carryon size and lightweight. I love how easily it rolls down the airplane aisle. I was able to pack quite a bit in it. Seems really sturdy but I've only used it once so far. I bought the blue color because it was the least expensive and in stock but I ended up loving the color because it stands out. I compared this to numerous other suitcases and this was the best size and the best deal. ... show more

This suitcase is nice and sturdy. The the inside pocket separation is very nice as it keeps stuff from falling out when you open. The only minor complaint (not enough to downgrade to a 4) is the spinner wheels are not as smooth and catch a bit more on cracks than my other suitcases. Only other concern hopefully the size 10" vs 9" depth will not be a problem with some of the new airline overhead restrictions. Past reviews seem to not have had a problem with it so we shall see. ... show more

Yes, the keep it simple stupid applies here, traditional works for a reason, and this is built well. Amazon basics found the secret sauce with this luggage line - simple, looks good, (don't look like a burlington store throwaway), wheel spinners/zippers good quality, and doesn't scratch easily (unlike cheapo clones), and priced very well. I basically retired (recycle center) all the other more known brands of luggage and now own 4 of these. And travel 4-9 times yearly via plane for work etc... and been holding up great. Buy with confidence and don't change anything about these luggages Azn ! ... show more

    • Worked better than I was expecting for the price

This product is a great deal for the price. And I base that off of one fairly hectic international trip that lasted a bit more than a week and involved six different planes and three different countries and all that includes. At first glance, it is a touch lighter than similar types of hard-shell pieces. Then again, this is an Amazon Basics product, right? Second, I see the issue that some have with some of the interior design features. The zippered compartment side does zip things down almost a full 1/2 inch below the actual top of that side (a clear, and initially odd, departure from other luggage I have owned). So, it creates some dead space between one section and the other. That ends up being a plus, as it gives you some cushion between that side and the open, strap-based, side. And, yes, the strap-side is a bit weak in terms of the strap itself. Then again, Basics, right? Which relates to, third, the overall outer and inner build quality. This thing doesn't feel like it will take a lot of beating in terms of use. The outer handles feel 'gently' constructed. But I was still able to use both the top and side sets of handles with no problem in multiple instances. And the wheels did what they were supposed to do, going in and out of four airports and into and out of multiple taxis, before being hauled into and out of three different sets of hotels. But I also took other reviews to heart (even some of the more questionable ones): I was careful with my packing, careful using the interior and exterior zippers, and paused before using handles. Rolling this thing? Didn't care! And it didn't fail. At the end of this trip? No dents. No major (or, really, minor) scuffs. It basically looked the same. If I use this again? Hmm. If I use it multiple times? Hmm. Then again, Basics, right? You got that for which you paid. And I wouldn't complain or necessarily avoid buying the same product again. Recommended, based on what it says it is and what it did this trip . . . for the price. Oh, and it does work for international trips as a checked bag, but not as a carry on. And it also packs for a standard international trip (quite densely, too) without going over weight limits (unless you are carrying rocks with you). So, come on, Amazon, throw me a Vine! Hahaha. I kid. Again, recommended. ... show more
