Had a somewhat interesting idea when I was considering misters outside in the backyard patio area and although it's definitely not a normal use case, I got 4 of these and used them in place of putting more holes into things to run mister water lines. The setup was straight forward (twist things), they fit perfectly, their simple, but strong twist spring loaded tension was spot on, their rubber pads gripped well, having slight adjustments at either end was nice to have and they look decent for what I wanted. Once fully tightened down they are sturdy... you won't be able to hang from them yourself, but they will definitely hold the 1/4" water lines and even some hanging plants that I wanted around the parameter. Based on what I did, I'd say you can use them for anything that needs a quick and/or temporary setup use case for hanging something between the dimensions that are available. ... show more

Moved into a new home. Didn't want to put holes in my walls or woodwork to install traditional curtain rods. Used traditional tension rods for my 6' wide double windows. They worked, but sagged in the middle. Style of windows did not allow for adhesive support hooks in the middle. Rods & curtain tended to fall if anyone brushed against them. Tried this shower curtain rod and it works great! Was easy to install and no sagging. Just bought 2 more for my other bedrooms. We bought this to use for a curtain to cover our sliding glass door and it works perfectly! - Easy to install: Just twist it to the right size! - Sturdy and stays in place: We have had our 6 lb curtains hanging on this rod for months and it has stayed up! Even when we are opening and closing them, we don't have any issue with it falling. - Rod is small enough for curtains to be fed over it without any issues. - Doesn't look cheap: The rod is well worth the money. We are living in an apartment, temporarily. The outdoor security lights shine directly into the bedroom window. I bought this to use with blackout curtains with grommets. Works great! I installed this behind the blinds in the window frame. I didn’t want to install a true curtain rod and also didn’t want to spend money on something I can’t reuse. I’ll use this in our new house for the shower curtain when the time comes. UPDATE: This worked great to hold the blackout curtain up, however using it as a shower curtain rod….not so much. I have a lightweight fabric liner on some roller hooks and the rod comes loose very easily. I was able to put it above the lip of the surround to keep it up, (see picture) but I don’t think this will work long-term as a shower curtain rod. The pads are not very rubbery, they are very firm, and don’t compress to hold in place. The spring mechanism works as it should to get the tension you need, but doesn’t stay put when you move the curtain back and forth many times. ... show more

I bought this to stick under the kitchen sink so I could hang spray bottles of cleaner on it, and it works great for that. Like most spring tension rods, it installed easily, non permanently, and hasn't shown any signs of slipping. As an actual shower curtain rod, it's nice enough to look at, but it doesn't seem to me robust enough to handle a heavy curtain or a lot of sliding and pulling, but again, that's not how I'm using it so I can't say for sure. ... show more

    • Works OK Until It Disappoints Too Soon

We’re using this rod (with a decorative shower curtain) to close off the entrance to one room of the house, an opening roughly 60 inches across. The rod was relatively easy to install and held tension very well. That was March 16th. In June, it seemed to slip a little at one end and I made some changes to how it was located on the wall & the problem seemed fixed. It suddenly fell (with no one near it) late in August so I re-positioned it again. It fell late one night in late October, and needed adjusting about once a week after that (we could see one end or another slipping slightly). It fell early this month, then fell again a few days ago — but now there is no compressibility to create tension, The rod can be twisted to adjust its length but the spring inside seems to have either completely failed or at least become disconnected. Also, after adjusting the length, if I tilt either end up that side of the rod will begin spinning and it will contract to its minimum size. I’ve ordered a different replacement with a slightly higher rating and have my fingers crossed. This rod failed completely in about 9 months with only a standard shower curtain attached and while adjust to a length a full foot shorter than it’s advertised maximum, with only minimal intermittent (and light) pulling of the curtain to either side.
