I ordered this clock specifically because I needed a clock with a ticking sound. I use it in my exercise room to time various stretching exercises, etc. The initial description reads it has a ticking sound however, the clock I received has a smooth sweeping second hand and makes no ticking sound at all. If you read the specifications on this clock you'll see that it describes it as being silent however, based on other reviews of it, indeed, making a ticking sound, I ordered it. Pretty nice clock with a good ticking sound not to loud, time is still accurate after a week. clock does feel very cheap but what do you expect from the price, if your careful with it out the box and hanging it up with care it will last you.

My son wanted four clocks on his home office wall to show times in different world zones where he has clients. These clocks are inexpensive and though not large are ideal size for his home offce. The price is good though other clocks which seem nearly identical range from lower price to significantly higher price. My old 12 inch ticking clock I’ve had since I was a kid, finally died. Searched high and low for a similar ticking clock and came upon this. There are hardly any choices out there— didn’t know so many people prefer utter silence! Maybe it’s because I got inadvertently trained to like the sound as a kid but the ticking literally helps hypnotize me to sleep. Even my dog sleeps soundly— was wondering if it would bother her sensitive dog hearing but nope, it must help her too as she always falls asleep right away and deeply. No other choice in color and size but I’m still happy with this. If this company were to ever make a larger 10-12 inch version of this clock and in multiple colors, I’d stock up. :) ... show more
