Size: Strength 3.0
My child needed these reeds for her summer college academy (she is 13) .It arrived in less than 24 hours. Worked great. Not cheaply made. Great value.

  • Good reeds, poor quality control
Size: Strength 2.5
I use these reeds mainly to practice and beat them up as to not waste my high end reeds. At first glance they appear fine but when you take a closer look you can see that some have slight warps while others are nicked and chipped around the curved edges. While this is not a deal breaker for me as I am fine with adjusting on the fly, new or younger players may feel discouraged as their sound can and will be affected. Maybe I just got a bad batch. I will say that for what they cost, these 2.5 reeds do play quite well on a Yamaha 4c mouthpiece for my alto sax. Overall these reeds get the job done at an affordable priced. I removed 1 star due to the lack of quality control. ... show more

  • Good reeds. I’d buy these again.
Size: Strength 2.0
Not bad at all. I’d get these again. There seems to be mixed reviews, however these are absolutely good useable reeds for the price. If you have issues, you may need to check your mouthpiece setup… for softer reeds, use a wider mouthpiece opening (I use a 7c with a 2.0 reed.) so the soft reed won’t choke. For stiffer reeds, 2.5 and higher, you need narrower mouthpiece openings. You really need to experiment with mouthpiece and reed setup as well as embouchure rather than quickly blaming reeds. Those with splinters from these - stick to sports. ... show more

  • Great Buy for a Beginner
Size: Strength 2.0
This is a great buy for a beginner saxophone player. We expected to go through a lot of reeds as our kiddo is learning their new instrument, and this product is a perfect solution.

  • Good beginner reed, and non beginners who like softer reeds.
Size: Strength 2.5
First, these are well made reeds. They are MANICURED, they are finished so nicely, and left me little or no work to fit. And they sound okay for a soft reed. Let me say up front, in my experience, all groups of musicians believe in some voodoo about their instruments, whether it's violin varnishes of ground unicorn horn, electric guitarist who have paper in oil capacitors from 1957, or bassists who lubricate their strings with 'nose grease'. For sax players, it's REEDS! They are the hardest thing to get a consensus on. Manufacturers don't help, because their ideas of stiffness are individual - a 2 by one company might be a 4 in another. ( Lower numbers indicate less stiffness -easier to play, need less lung power, but a little quieter with a less powerful strident tone.) And sax players are often not rational - they want a reed that sounds like a 6 while being as easy as a two. With all that in mind, these seemed soft, and made a mellow tone for me. I didn't notice a difference between the 2.5 and other 2's I've played by other makers. Anyway, I liked these - all the gruntwork is already done, but enough material is left you could do your mystical shaping if that's your thing. OH, and you get 10! ... show more
