The media could not be loaded. Bought this specifically for the flow detector switch to save on UV bulb hours. Found out in the manual that you cannot change the timing of the switch (it’s auto set to 10mins) which was a bummer but what’s even worse is that it just leaks. Bought this item and 6 months ago and the ballast failed. Get no response form ALTHY customer service (in CHINA) After extensive searching the ballast can not be purchased individually.

    • Fits as expected - kills microbes without chlorine!
I have an Aqua Sana system with a UV light. This is very similar to that one. The AS has a 6 minute residue time, this one has 10 minutes. This one counts down, the AS just shuts down when it times out -- does not tell you where in the cycle you are. So those are both benefits of this unit over the existing system. The hook-up is just about identical, and it would take very little to convert over to this one. I'm not doing that right now, as the AS system was just replaced on its annual cycle a month ago -- I got this for a back-up in case the electronics or the bulb fail on the AS unit. Since we have well water, this is a very important health-and-safety feature -- being able to kill microbes in the water system. We had our water tested before we installed the AS system, and after it was operational, and where we had some microbes prior, we not test annually, and have had zero. (City water uses chlorine to kill microbes, this uses UV light. Chlorine leaves a residual of chlorine, which dries your skin when you shower with it. UV leaves the water softer, not harsh on your skin, and just plain better tasting! Go with UV if you can! ... show more

This UV Whole house water purifier seems to be a really well made UV purifier. It has a very large capacity and flow rate. Installation is relatively simple and easy to install if you are comfortable with plumbing at all. I appreciate their installation diagram that shows you the order and placement depending on your water filtration system. I like the fact that it is internationally certified as well. One big plus is that you can purchase a replacement UV light and replace it without having to uninstall the whole thing.
