  • Not what I was expecting
Rarely do I ever write a negative review on a product. Yet here we are! I was hoping to find a Christian perspective on herbalism and other alternative methods to create and sustain a healthy life. I was very disappointed to read what what was a very biased Christian version of why we don’t need to practice alternative medicine techniques. Apparently it’s not very Christlike to use what God gave us as medicine unless it had undergone synthetic modifications and is approved by the FDA…..I’m returning this was not what I wanted and if you’re looking for alternative medicines this is not the book. Don’t waste your time or money. ... show more

  • Not what I expected
Most of the book is dedicated to an explanation of different types of alternative medicine. There is a section that covers cures of various diseases and ailments. I expected the whole book to be about cures and was disappointed for that reason.

  • The occultist handbook
The subtitle for this book is "The Christian Handbook", which it is not. I just covers all non-conventional medical means. Jesus Christ and His followers, even today, use healing as a sign and wonder that Jesus' message is true. He promised this. This book says Jesus' signs and wonders ran out centuries ago, since they can't do them. That implies that Jesus' gospel must have run out of power as well. Not. As a member of the Order of Saint Patrick and a member of the Order of Saint Luke the Physician, I regularly see God heal cancer, MS, arthritis and other things that these methods - and medical science methods - can't help. ... show more

  • Not what we were looking for.
I thought I was finally going to find an alternative health book with a Christian perspective. What I actually bought was pages filled with contempt for anything that is not bought with a prescription. I went through the book, then gave it to our teenage daughter who's interested in this field of study for college, asking her to give me her impressions. She was shocked to see such bias for allopathic medicine. Bottom line, it's of no use to us as a resource guide. We're going to sell it to recoup our $20 and move on. I intended to research the authors to follow the money in regard to their education and to see who signs their paychecks, but I don't think I even want to waste the time. Maybe someone out there can check? ... show more

  • Misleading book
In some areas of this book there is misinformation on some of the types of alternative therapies. This book is very slanted against any kind of alternative therapy. By the standards raised in this book even modern medicine is against the Bible.

  • Not what you're looking for
This book is crap. I was hoping to find a book from a Christian point of view about holistic medicine and natural health. This book is just calling any type of homeopathic remedies 'placebo' and other types of natural medicine 'quakery'
