  • Best investment ever!
Took me a whopping 16 hours to install for the following reasons: - I did not have enough clearance for the cylindrical weights in regard to the smith machine. I had to partially disassemble the machine to fit the weights at an angle. PLEASE LOOK AT PAGE #5 TO SEE IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH CLEARANCE BEFORE MOVING PAST PAGE#2 OF THE INSTALLATION. You will thank me later. - The instructions were not clear on how to fix the weight pin to the first plate. Had to look it up on YT for some reference. - Smith machine section of the manual showed the springs, even the breakdown of the components did not show the springs. I have to cross-reference images to understand how I needed to assemble the bar. Other than that, it's not impossible to install. For something this complex, I prefer a video demonstration installation. The company was contacting me through amazon message which was great when I had the weight pin discrepancy. All in all, this is definitely an awesome product, but please update your manual or provide a video installation to ease the installation. ... show more

  • Have patience
I bought this for my husband as a home gym. It took months of looking online and this machine fit our size specification and was the only weight stack machine I could find even close to this price point. For starters, the machine is very sturdy. There is no sway when using the smith bar or cable pulls. The components themselves are super sturdy and heavy duty. The attachments all work and so far (one week into using it) we are happy with the way it is performing for us. A couple of things though: 1) the machine is not very deep (where you put the bench). I ordered a bench from Amazon and it's longer than the machine can really handle. Flat chest press and decline press work fine but there is no room to get up and behind the bar on the incline. So keep that in mind if you're not ordering a Altas brand bench. 2) All the reviews regarding difficulty in assembling the machine...they are spot on. My husband and I are very competent, capable DIYers and we both had to take multiple deep breaths. This took us two Saturdays to put together, approximately 5 hours per day. The instruction book is the worst I've ever seen. The company will send you a video to watch which does fill in some gaps from the book but again, perhaps the worst "how to" video I've ever seen. The parts arrive with green or blue tape on them, which is supposed to denote whether the part goes on the left or the right. The book doesn't tell you which is which and honestly, I'm not sure the tape is accurate. We started off one way but then some parts with "left" tape only worked on the right. Don't take the tape as gospel accurate. 3) If you have ceilings lower than 10 foot, the instructions say to do step 5 before standing the machine up. The instructions are wildly unclear about what in step 5 can't be done with the machine stood up. Since we learned this one the hard way I will tell you. The two main supports for the back of the machine are hollow tubes. There are two large (about two foot long) heavy cylindrical weights that counterbalance the smith bar. Those weights have cables attached to them and they slide into those hollow tubes. Do that part before standing the machine up and then you can do the rest of step 5 which is installing the pulleys for that cable. 4). I took a star off because the machine was delivered with multiple scratches, dents, and dings in the finish/paint. It doesn't ruin the look of the machine or its functionality, however for this price on a brand new machine I expect it to arrive in perfect condition. Overall, we are happy with the purchase. Again, for this price point, this is only machine I could find with the weight stack and adjustable cable pulls, that just looked better constructed in the photos than other brands. All things considered, I would buy this machine again. Just be patient with yourself (and any other hapless bystanders) when putting the thing together. ... show more

  • Solid Investment!
Took a few days to assemble by myself, have a family member around to assist with smith rack - otherwise, solid investment! Sturdy and sufficient weight - plates, bench, and barbell are additional items not included.

  • Great product! It took 13 total man-hours for two assembly professionals to install.
Instructions contained no narrative, but blown-out schematics only. Several steps required two people. Really great high quality machine. Looks like a high end professional product. Be sure you have the room space and height requirements for home applications. I ordered an Olympic barbell, associated plates (Rogue) and a bench separately to complete the system. ... show more

  • Nice home unit with enough weights
For the functions and price, this is a really nice unit for home use. The instructions were not good and it came with what felt like 2000 pieces and took 8 hrs to assemble. Instructions failed to note the importance of ceiling height and the order in which certain parts need to be installed. That resulted in even more time to disassemble and reassemble several parts. Pictures show lat pull down in the middle but that is misleading as there is no pulley system there, only a hanger for the bar storage. Overall though, once out together, it has been a great unit for the family and allows much safer workouts for everyone in the family. I wish it came with some additional accessories but a quick search on Amazon and you can get a few more options to add for a couple hundred dollars. ... show more

  • What a nightmare
The directions for assembly are horrible!!!! After countless days of trying to make sense of the written directions, we complain to the manufacturer and they sent us a video. It was minimally helpful, and 80% of the installation we did by trial and error and just trying to use common sense to put it together. Would never buy this again. Finally after 5 days got it together, and it does work really well, just the frustration of putting it together was unnecessarily difficult. A multi-stept assembly of the actual weight in the back had two steps listed. It literally was 57 steps to complete that part of the assembly. The videos were atrocious, but slightly helpful. The person would stand in front of the area worked couldn't see what they were doing. Definitely seriously consider paying extra to get it assembled. The worst was when you realized in step four that the piston had to be put down into one of the pipe uprights, and if you don't have the ceiling clearance, which we didn't, we had to disassemble a third of what we put together. There should have been a notation in the beginning to put that in side the pipe, so you would avoid having to disassemble the machine to get it in there. Searching for a divorce lawyer, my husband and I almost killed each other trying to put this together, LOL ... show more
