I bought this as a birthday present for my granddaughter, something she could do when she woke up excited for her birthday, but before the festivities. This fully occupied her while I was working on other stuff. She followed the instructions in the book and only needed help a couple of times, mostly just second-guessing herself. The instructions are really straight forward and easy to follow. Forewarning, It is messy!! Glitter is involved! But absolutely worth it for the enjoyment she has from it. She not only still has the set but my mom passed recently. I was locked up in my room crying and sleeping all day, hiding away from everyone. She had asked to come in several times but I just wasn’t up for it and didn’t want her to see me like that, all broken. My husband got home from work and comes in to check on me, but brings me a little special something from my sweetheart of a granddaughter… it was the “healing potion” from the set… and it worked! For something that was just supposed to be a fun activity, that cute little bottle, given in the most innocent of ways with all the love she had, put such a smile on my face and from there I was able to pull myself together, wash my face, and come down for dinner, first time out of my room all day. I even commented to my husband how silly it was that it worked and, he, who doesn’t believe in any of that stuff, replied “it’s magic.” This set is too cute! It would be fun for birthday parties or individual activities, granddaughter was occupied for a couple of hours with it, and who knows, maybe there is a bit of magic in it, at least for me I can’t deny the results ;) ... show more

My daughter has always loved making “potions.” It got to the point where I was finding a lot of make up, hand wash, and skin care products getting used up for her experiments. As soon as I realized Prime Day was coming up, I looked up potion making kits for kids and ultimately decided to purchase this one. It did not disappoint. Even I was entertained! We discussed colors and what types of glitter to put in the water and anything else we could think of. The kit only came with two food coloring bottles so if your kid is like mine, you’ll need to bust out your own food coloring from the kitchen. I also recommend putting in pieces of cotton balls for dreamy cloud-like potions (my daughter made a “cumulo potion” with glitter and sky-blue coloring). Honestly, the possibilities are endless. The only thing I will say is that you have to expect a mess. Lol It is glitter after all. Also, the glitter can pool or clump in the bottle, even after shaking it up with the water. But it still looks cool and doesn’t detract from the experience. ... show more

Order arrived quickly. This is the first time I have ordered something like this for my daughter, but her and I both ended up really having a lot of fun together. No distractions, no phones, nothing but us two! It was fun watching her think up an idea an then bring it to life. Everything that you need is included. I am so pleased with this product I felt I should make a review - so if your reading this and you are in search of something fun for your young ones, this is a fantastic item to start. This was a "just because" gift for my two granddaughter, 6 and 8. They have built fairy gardens and have excitedly made potions with the kit materials.     • VERY CUTE craft for 3 girls.
The bottles were plastic so no glass, which is safe. Varying Potions come with instructions, but you can also go rogue and make your own. The 3 girls absolutely loved it! Ages 5, 6 & 11. Would be a great gift and we're def buying again.
