I replaced my old Alpine type S speakers with these, the only problem is that the front set of type S were component with separate tweeters, I temporarily ran 2 of these type R in the rear doors with the type S components still hooked up front and the sound was amazing, however when I switched them out to all 4 type R I lost some sound, my ear keeps favoring the right rear speaker, I am installing a new head unit soon and will allow some burn in time for the new speakers and will give update...they still sound badass! Use with amplifier! Update: I've burned in the speakers and made some adjustments on the Kenwood, way better than what I had! I also trimmed out the rear speakers...New update: 1 year later, I installed an Alpine head unit and got it tuned all in, it sounds fantastic especially with the Alpine 12" woofer in a tuned enclosure in the back... ... show more

If you are considering a 6.5” coax and looking at these and s series get these. Put these on a amp and they are clear and scream. I put 4 in a 2006 Sierra crew cab and they move the mirrors with bass.

Best brand on the market in my opinion. These come with a mounting bracket and protective grille. MORE than worth the money, no distortion at high volume, and a wonderful warranty with the company.

Very good speakers .speaker bracket no good for my car Honda civic Lx 2017 i had to cut the regional car speakers bracket so it can fit perfectly. The sound is awesome with my alpine system radio. but two speakers blown out in two@half year one of the built in tweeter got loose and created a electrical shortage and damaged two of my back speakers in the back of my 🚗. ... show more
