  • Works great.
It works great. Most tire shops will not sipe used tires. This is a great way to get more winter life out of your tires.

  • Works well & fast - blades not that great though.
It heats up fast. I used it on 35" mud tires on my f350 to get a little better grip on snow and ice. I've always had my tires siped for me at the tire store but now they are less likely when they are already used. Also, you lose chunks of rubber if you're driving off road or mountain gravel roads or spinning your tires at all. When prepping the blades for install, you have to snap them off - as they are all on a strip with an indent. But the indent is so strong that you have to use two pliers and they sometimes snap off crooked. So try to get the pliers as close together at the indent part as possible. Then bend lightly back and forth vs just trying to snap them apart. Also, learn how the little tightener lever works first. You push it in (its spring loaded) - then you can turn the bolt by hand. Once you get it where you want it - then use the lever to finish the tightening. I found that lining up the blades could be done by individually pushing them with a small flatblade screwdriver. It works pretty fast. You let it heat up and then pull it toward you. Works even easier if you let it heat up a couple seconds between pulls. I sliced up all 4 tires in less than an hour. DONT set the blades too deep. just plan on doing it again next season if you are using this for winter. Otherwise you'll destroy your tread because you will lose big chunks of rubber. Remember - less is better. ... show more
